I’m hearing quality control might be code lingo for damaged while shipping.
Oh geez - I hope not, but I wish they could just tell us if that were the case.

Same boat here. Car arrived October 31st at the Portland railyard. Has not been delivered to dealer yet. Dealer has had 6 other Mach-E delivered between Nov 4th and 11th now. They have the same Mach-E as mine sitting on their lot available but they won't switch that one with the one I reserved, they demand I pay a $5000 ADM. Initially they said they would do a switch and keep it at MSRP until I arrived 20 minutes later and they said "Nope, $5K or you can wait for yours". $50 on uber wasted.

I'd ask them to look into why its been there 2 weeks but I've already been ignored, threatened, lied to, and blamed for the delay itself by the GM and Inventory Manager of the dealer. So yeah they are not going to help me.

So sorry for that. Absolutely unnecessary & terrible for customer service. We still have no clue what the hold up is & actually haven’t heard anything from the dealer. Little to no returned calls, no explanation or time frame. We've kind of taken the stand that we’ll see how to proceed when it actually arrives. Good luck to you.

Yeah my dealer has literally never given me an update. I have always had to call in (get voicemails not returned, emails ignored, etc) and even then they just say "Its coming" with no specifics. I had a friend call their other location today, which is where the cars come in first, just to see if anything came in today. Their GM called me about 5 minutes later threatening me again. If I call or email about the car again or come in to check on it then they will cancel my reservation. I am expecting a very unfriendly time when they actually do get it and more crap to go through. They just want customers who never want to know where their car is because they don't want to have to do any actual "work". Its in their best interests if I walk away, so not going to.

Still shaking my head at the fact that they called me at noon on Veterans Day (I'm a disabled vet) and told me my car was in and would be ready around 5pm. Then 3 hours later they called and said "Oh our mistake, it isn't in".

Absolutely unbelievable. I would hope someone in Ford mgmt. sees this & comes to your assistance. I can’t believe they would treat a customer this way. No excuse for that. I don’t know if it’s worthwhile for you to document this nonsense & take it up with Ford itself. Bad representation of their brand, particularly towards a service member.

Another Dealer actually suggested that I go to the BBB and State Attorney General since Ford will most likely just shrug and say "We can't control our dealers", which is sadly true.

They are looking for any excuse to cancel your order so they can add $5k onto the price and sell it to someone else. Have you checked the vin #s of the ones on the lot?

Yup, I have all the VINs of the ones on the lot(just 2) and ones they have coming inbound (3 more inbound "next week", includes mine). When I went in to switch to the one they had in stock, before they did a bait and switch, the salesman showed me that mine is still at the Portland Railyard sitting there so I don't think they somehow got it in and sold it out from under me.

A friend of mine, who also wants a Mach-E, inquired about one on their lot that shows as MSRP on TrueCar. Apparently they won't even answer the simple question of "Is the TrueCar price valid or do you have a markup?" and they just keep saying to come in. Friend said if they can't even give a price before coming in then they are up to some shady crap. He said their TrueCar page says "We are committed to total price transparency". We got a good laugh at that.

Edit: On the Seg.fyi tracker my vin and order no longer appear but all the other VINs from the dealer do. Ford Order Tracking does show my vin and order. Hopefully just a hiccup.

Edit 2: After 6 hours friend finally got them to admit the truecar price is wrong and there is a 5K markup after previously saying it was a valid price.

Of course they’re being shady.

I posted elsewhere on this site about my sad MME car buying story, but I’m determined not to fall victim to that again. Hence, buying the car in Bozeman (albeit, not mine).

The car that is being held up at the rail yard is actually my friend’s order. We were all set to go & that gave me an excuse to go to Bozeman with her to get my hair done & irritate my son, who is at MSU. It was meant to be a girl’s road trip on our way to the dock in Tacoma after car pick-up & just touring around.

But, I’m not sure if you were told this or not regarding yours, but my friend’s car has a factory hold on it & is not being released to the dealer. No one seems to know why. Build week was 9/11 (per Ford) or 9/21 (per window sticker). At any rate, it’s been at the Laurel rail yard (Billings) since 10/21. The Ford tracker says it’s been delivered to the dealer, but it has not. It had been delivered to Kansas City on 9/27. That’s all we know. Original order was 6-11 for a premium.

Mine is not marked as delivered, only arrived by rail to the Portland railyard October 31st. There could be a factory hold or even dealer hold on it and my dealer definitely would never tell me.

What jackasses. I would absolutely hate dealing with them even when it does come in & you need to complete the purchase. Imagine having to return for recalls, etc.

Don’t let them forget to deduct your deposit. Some dealers think that since you paid it to Ford, you have to get it from them. It took me 4 months to get mine back. It’s paid to Ford, but my credit card receipt showed the dealership & their bookkeeper didn’t see it in their books, so it was in limbo. It took a new GM at the dealership before it got resolved. Way easier to get it deducted at the purchase.

I wonder if it’s possible, through a request to Ford itself, to divert to another dealer. Especially since it hasn’t been delivered. Especially under the circumstances.

Yeah I am not looking forward to if/when it arrives. I put the deposit on a card so if they don't refund/include it in the sale I can just file a dispute with my Credit card company.

I wish I could but it can't be routed to another dealer since its dealer ordered, customer reserved. I do have an escalated ticket in with Ford Vehicle reservations so maybe they can do something but I'm not holding my breath.

I see. Looks like you thought through all these issues. Hope you bring along a strong support person(s) so you don’t come out feeling crappy. Good luck ???

If I do managed to actually have the car come in and the dealer doesn't sell it out from under me or pull some crap during finance, then I'll come out not feeling crappy. Sadly, the ETA switched again. Its now the 22nd. It was the 18th until the afternoon of the 15th. Whenever it is within 2-3 days it updates to be 1 week later. Has been doing that since November 2nd, the original ETA.
