2023 ME ext range, in garage leaving in am range shows 165 start driving range drops to 155. Travel 8 miles to work range drops to 136. Any comments
If you enter a destination in your Nav screen, the vehicle will recalculate your estimated range, lowering the number on your guess o meter, as soon as you start your trip. As other forum members state, colder weather obviously has it's negative effect.

Will be interesting this winter to see if EVowners learn any lessons from last year bitter cold (Chicago)
Here's what happened:

It will indeed be interesting to see if the Uber/Lyft community learned from this.

But I thought the GOM was flawless!

If you are relying on the guess o meter then it will be misleading especially if you don’t have a lot of drive time then it hasn’t learned your driving style yet. I have had my car for 3.5 years and range is relatively close but i still mostly rely on battery % consumption over miles driven to project out. For example, if i go 25 miles and use 10% then roughly 250 miles for 100% start
Yes, that‘s more like it given exactly what the OP is describing (& not necessarily weather-related). The MME GoM tries to be a little too smart for its own good vs other EVs I have owned (both LFP & NMC chemistry like this one). Oddly, it improves if setting destination charging for a longer trip.

Anyways, how to do better with this (& any EV really):
let the car run down to a lower SOC (say <30%) then charge all the way up to 100% in one session on an AC charger, likely home 7-22kw wallbox). Do this every 6 weeks or so & zero the trip-meters beforehand. You could also choose to reset the driving history as well if you think its now a bit wacky.

In my experience this has been the way to get the most accuracy out of the GoM - but its still a weird thing, hence ‘guess’, eg, the ‘displayed‘ discharge curve (like the OP mentions) is NEVER linear, more like a log curve & most of the initial ‘guesses’ for range on a full charge dissipate more quickly at the top of the curve then begin to level out after 80% or so.

Also as I said, I see this in no way as being an MME thing & has behaved exactly like this on my three, different brands of EV & battery chemistries over the last five years or so. 90% home charging, little public DC charging.
