I’ve been driving Mach-E’s for 18months now and both my RWD ER models have consistently given me between 350-370 miles of range in the summer months.
I find that hard to believe, I have the same Mach-E RWD ER and struggle to get more than 320miles out of it, its usually under 300. I know it is dependent on driving style conditions etc but I can't believe people are getting 370 miles out of it under regular conditions.
Note - just because it gives an estimate of 370 miles on the ranges guess o meter doesn't mean that is what you get. you need to check the trip computer to work out what range you are actually getting. The usable battery is 91 kwh, so to be getting 350-370miles you will need an average of 3.85-4.1 miles per kwh.
My average is usually around 3.2 miles per kw which would give around 291miles of range, which is consistent with what I observe. In the summer months it was closer to 3.5 giving me around 318 miles. My range estimate tells me I should be getting around 360 miles when fully charged, which is just not true at all.

In tend to agree, Kev. Dist travelled added to what little range remains after a day out is usually c270 miles for me. I would have liked 325 and fully understand if you leave the e-heat off, push it up hill, freewheel down and tickle it along otherwise might increase range but I buy a car to use, be comfortable in and work for a living so WLTP probably isn’t real-world for me as it probably isn’t for that matter for very many people, anyhow, if the motor trade can’t get near they’ll only cheat as they did with their emissions software, call me a cynic if you like but realism reigns for me? still loving this car, though & planning a 450 mile day out tomorrow to bring the mileage up to 40,000 miles since June ‘21.

Never understand why people get so salty about this.

I live in Norfolk - it’s pretty flat - we don’t have hills or mountains here. The nearest motorway is 60miles away so they don’t factor into the equation either unless doing a longer road trip.

A very good proportion of my driving is also either urban or narrow country roads which means my average speeds are really low (and also efficient)

It’s a very mild climate here being close to the sea - tends to stop those very low overnight temps - and I rarely need to use the heating or cooling.

So that’s just how it is - if you want to call me a liar go for it.

Early days for me (4,000 miles clocked up) but I’m averaging 3.7 on my 68kWH standard range battery. I live in the mountains of North Wales. Although I’ve been driving hybrids for 10 years I still grin when I watch my ‘range’ increase when going down mountains (obviously I shut my eyes when going uphill lol)

Hello all,

New to the forum as I’ve not long had my Mach e and I’m very interested to understand what people’s thoughts are on the range?

I have a Mach e ER RWD and have had it for 6 weeks covering 3500miles. The vast majority of these miles have been motorway mileage but have some journeys of 50ish miles along A roads and around town.

I picked the car up, fully charged at 369miles but have never got close to that at all. The max range I’ve had is 290miles but now it’s down at 230-240miles when fully charged.

Keeping a very close eye on my m/kWh as I need this for my mileage claim for work and overall the car is averaging 3.1m/kWh. Driving around in normal mode (apart from the very occasional boot in untamed!) and haven’t had heated steering wheel or seat on, just de-misting windows etc.

Am I doing something wrong or have the I got the car in a mode that decreases range?

Also - car has got 2 days worth of updates at the dealership this week. Ironically, one of the updates is to enable over the air updates!

Would be good to hear others thoughts.

3.1 is RIGHT ON THE MONEY. Matches me exactly. I have a ER AWD, but you're doing more highway so it makes sense.

All the modes yield the same efficiency.

You keep saying that - but it does actually represent a more accurate estimate for those of us that drive in European areas vs the US EPA figures.

I’ve been driving Mach-E’s for 18months now and both my RWD ER models have consistently given me between 350-370 miles of range in the summer months.

A lot of it comes down to road types and driving style - but it’s not as far fetched as you make out. ?

Oh, how I dream of that kind of range :) Just got in from a 455 mile day trip at 3.1mls/kWh, before a charge I would have managed a 252 range out of the RWD EV 'Stang fully loaded with creature comfort mode on but oh, what a day!! Apart from sitting waiting for the Police to shoot the protesters out the gantries down Dartford way!

Wow you have done 3500 miles in 6 weeks? That is a lot of driving, I have covered that same distance in 6 months. Lucky enough cause my lease only covers me for 9000 a year.

Your range sounds about right, I have the same RWD ER and am now getting about 240 miles with the colder weather this is averaging around 2.7m/KWh. I am now fully expecting it to go down to about 200 or less miles in Dec/Jan or 2.2m/KWh

I am doing a long journey next week Aberdeen to Dartford so will be interesting to see how it handles a 1100 mile round trip at high speeds and what kind of mileage / electric cost I get out of it.

I've had a lot of meetings recently to catch up on hence the mileage. Normally cover around 1800-2000 miles a month.

Good to hear that my m/kwh is similar to others and I would be keen to hear about the results of your epic trip from the top of the country to the bottom!!

So my trip to Dartford and back went quite good.
Google maps said it would take 9.5 hours non-stop. It took 12 all in.
Stopped 4 times about 35 mins each time. So about what I expected.
The range wasn't particularly I was using about 50% for a 100 miles but it was cold.

Only one charger didn't work - Ionity at Cambridge so had to go to another one.
Only cost £60 of charging each way so £120 all in which is definitly a plus

I reckon in Summer I would manage just 3 stops and it would be quite a bit cheaper.

I guess that that worked out to be about 9p/mile. If that is the case then that's not bad using public charging

Ouch! Worst price/mile yet yesterday over 409 miles with creature comfort on nearly all the time, in the rain, fully loaded with tools and "driving" the 'Stang over 9:32hrs averaging 3.09kW/mile and 16p/mile probably mainly because I used Shell Recharge A10/M25 and they charge something like 85p/kWh, plus 69p/kWh on Ionity at good ol' MK Coachstop for a splash, slash & dash just to see me home (with 7 miles to spare-eek!) If I could've done it all on my home charge rates would have been 6p/mile. Glasgow Thursday so Gretna here I come!
