Real Time Tracking???

Hello out there. I'm wondering out loud. The Ford App appears to show you % battery capacity, miles left and ALSO car location. We have no real idea where the car really is including how the app is updated. Google pretty sure can be rigged to do a better job. I wonder does Ford get DIFFERENT real time info than that actual car owner? I'm gonna go ahead and assume yes. Anyone else believe that?

The Location mode on my MME IS USELESS IF THE CAR IS ON PARKED NO PROBLEM BUT IF I LOOK AT THE LOCATION, THE CAR IS RUNNING. IT SHOWS ME THE LOCATION 300 M AWAY FROM WHERE IT STARTED UP. THEREFORE WHAT I’M SAYING IS WHILE THE CAR IS MOBILE THE LOCATION OPTION IS USELESS.

WHY ARE WE ALL SHOUTING!!!!!?????!!!!??!!!

you can easily put an airtag in your car if you want. google maps also lets your share your location / let someone else track you, so if you're just checking on your partner's commute or something that's even easier.

I am pretty sure the car location USED to be updated in real time, but they disabled that due to privacy / stalking concerns.

Yes, it used to be real-time, and now it's only when parked.
No, they didn't have it this way for 3 years and now parked only "due to privacy / stalking concerns".
Google has a feature where you can track people (they grant permission), and it's really real-time. You can watch the vehicle move down the road. We turn it on while traveling, and our grown kids often do the same, peace of mind.
