Ford supplied charger started flashing orange/blue. Looked up what it meant, overheating. Watch jump from 32amps to 16amp repeat. Thought better make sure. 2nd Ford charger, no error. Wall charger no error, no errors on car or with any other l2. My guess would be it is charger. (Especially as known issue) why are you spending 2 days testing the car? Surprisingly nothing wrong with car. I would have started with charger, but hey what do I know. But again still points to that charger. They have a case open with Ford as there is nothing wrong with car. IT IS THE CHARGER! Was told they have procedure. So someone asking for charger replacement, you test everything but the charger? Then tell me nothing wrong with car? I really think it is the charger. So just a suggestion FORD, start trouble shooting with customer complaint-Ford charger doesn't work. Is it really that hard to test charger?

They probably don’t have a 14-50 outlet. Unfortunately, that seems to be very common for dealers.

The Ford Mobile Charger (FMC) is known to have thermal issues. Eventually, it will fry itself after throwing amber lights. Do yourself a favor and obtain a dedicated L2 EVSE. The FMC isn’t worth the trouble of using it daily. ??

I do have wall charger and don't use daily or even often. However using it one time noticed the error. Thought I would replace while under warranty, as I do use on occasion. Didn't realize it would turn into 2 day ordeal, after waiting 30 days for appt. Tried for 2 days to explain it was charger, trouble shooting I did etc. To come to that conclusion. So now they win as I give up, will hope doesn't burn a house down when I do need to use it. Just venting, as I don't have range anxiety have service anxiety. Live with anxiety I will have to take car to Ford service.

Service anxiety is real.
I’ve come up with a hundred excuses not to take mine in for the last 7 months. Still dragging my ass on it, and I really want it in there before I get out of the actual 3/36 B2B as there’s 2 pages of ‘and this and this and’.

Perhaps the dealership makes money for diagnosing the car, but not for exchanging the charger? But remember that each dealership is an independent company and is not Ford. Yes, Ford should have better control, but in many cases they cannot due to either tradition or even state law. I'm not being a Ford (or dealership) apologist - just saying what is the case.

I have zero issues with my Mach-E charger, however, the charger that came with our Lyriq also overheats constantly. The problem is, if this happens on the Lyriq, it simply stops charging. The Mach-E will throttle charging and then keep on going.

Cadillac dealer wanted the same thing, for me to bring the car in so they could test it. I told them I didn't want to waste my time and told them the charger behaves the same on two different cars/two different 240v outlets, and that the Lyriq charges 100% reliably on my Mach-E charger.

They finally agreed and gave me a replacement charger today.
