About two weeks ago my rear passenger door stopped popping open when the door button is pushed. The door unlocks and can be pried open with a finger or two on the edge of the door. But the door no longer opens an inch or two as it did previously and as all the other doors still do. I've had the vehicle less than a year and have less than 8k miles on it.

Planning to take this in to my dealership soon, but wanted to check and see if anyone had run into a similar issue before and if so what the fix was. Thanks!

Yep, door presenter. If you don’t hear that motor whirring sound after the latch clicks oprn, the presenter isn’t functioning. If you do and it’s not popping open, there is a problem in the presenter’s gear drive. Either way, it needs warranty service. ??

I appreciate everyone's comments. I set a service appointment for 11/18, but the problem graduated from minor to major inconvenience yesterday. I received the "Door Fault, Service Required" message when starting the car. The rear passenger door will no longer open from the inside or outside and the door open dashboard indicator light remains on at all times. Dealer was able to move up my service appointment to tomorrow, so we'll see what's next.

I'm hoping it isn't more complicated than this:

You can try pushing the outside button and/or inside handle twice. If the door is stuck partially unlatched, you can press hard on the outside of the door to fully latch it to clear the ajar light.

That’s going to suck because they’ll have to pull the door panel from the inside of the car to get to the latch. There is no mechanical emergency release on the rear doors unless I’m forgetting.

You are absolutely correct about pulling the door panel. Dealership says Ford told them they will have to break the door panel to access the latch. Currently waiting for delivery of the replacement door panel and then they will break the panel, release the latch, replace the latch, and then replace the door panel.

We are still working on this a month later because the first dealership I tried (Ourisman Ford in Alexandria, VA) kept my car for more than a week (two separate trips) but made absolutely no progress in addressing the issue. Sheehy Ford in Springfield, VA seems to be on top of things so far.

Final resolution - bad seals on the door permitted water to leak into the inner door panel. Water caused the door control module not to function. Two weeks in the shop (mostly waiting for parts as I understand it), but the issue is finally fixed.

Sheehy kept on top of this and kept me in the loop on the repair, so I would recommend them to anyone in Northern Virginia.

My MME only has 1100 miles on it and is already experiencing the 12v battery issues and this. Rear doors no longer pop open. Pretty annoying considering how new this car is.

Door presenter is not functioning, likely needs replaced (under warranty).
In the fall of 2020 when the early production-intent Mach Es were being driven around to provide demonstrations at dealerships I was at one of the local events speaking with one of their mechanics. When he saw the demonstration of the door actuator system his response was "Great! Another part we'll have to fix."

Hi there! Will you send us a message with your VIN and your local Ford dealer? I can look into things on my end.

Yes, exactly like that first time I saw cups of water leaking out of the middle of my rear door hatch! I'm out of warranty, and I'll have to talk to the dealership and see what they will do. Sounds like a manufacturing defect to me. Will see.

If you have a quantity of water in your “hatch” (aka the lift gate) it’s likely that one or both of the tail lights is loose. See if they wiggle. If not, then the sun shade is probably loose. Either can cause external liquids to seep into the lift gate. ??

This is one reason why I don’t pressure wash my cars. You just never know…
