Me too,
and at night while I'm sleeping, the trunk opens by itself. I have the garage right below my room, it only happens if the car is unlocked.

It also often happens to me that if I press the button to close the trunk while going down, it stops and the car beeps... I have to open a door and then press the trunk button again

I'm resurrecting this thread because it didn't come up when I was searching for something similar, so I started a new thread. In my case I think the hatch opened when I opened the door, but another time (immediately following) I just walked near the car and the hatch opened.

I also have a 21 AWD ER. @dreKion, does yours not lock when you walk away? I'm pretty sure mine always does, but I'm starting to wonder if maybe it doesn't because...it just doesn't? I also use PaaK.

Have either of you found any potential solutions? Does it continue to happen? Call me paranoid, but I am a little concerned that it might happen when I am in a sketchy area...

Sometimes yes, other times no.

The trunk door opens normally when I'm at home (I don't use the physical key, I have the battery removed).

This month I noticed that at midnight in the garage the door opened and 5 minutes later it closed again.

I only know what happens when my cell phone is within range of the car.

Happened to me this week. First time in over 3 years of ownership. Happened only once.

I had this happen today. It's quite windy and the wind was blowing on the back of the car as I unlocked/opened the drivers door. I approached from the front of the car.

Did it again this evening. I noticed that my door button panel is cracked (again, 4th time) and possibly that crack is triggering the 9/0 button when i go to open it. This time the car wasn't locked and was in my garage. I park perfectly (and lowered the car an inch) so my hatch won't hit an open garage door. Others arn't so lucky.
