Friday (July 5th) my dealership replaced the rear drivers side window in my Mach-E. (They scratched the glass when removing the window sticker - so were replacing it.) Today (July 8th) I had someone in that back seat for the first time (since the glass was replaced) and we discovered that the door no longer opens from the inside. I can still open it from the outside. (The other rear door still works fine from the inside.)

While this is obviously the dealer's responsibility to fix, it's likely a silly thing that they just forgot to plug back in. (The rear door handles are purely electronic.)

Does anyone have the service/workshop manual for taking the trim off this door and for connecting/disconnecting the inside door handle?

And you tried cycling the child lock on and off?

Yes. I did that immediately after trying to find a conventional child-lock mechanical switch on the door edge (as most other cars have.) Then I remembered there was that window switch at the front. I turned that on, recognized that it disabled the passenger side rear door, and so turned it back off. Then the passenger rear door opened from the inside, but the driver rear door didn't.

The window for that door still works. I can open/close it from both the driver door and from the rear door itself.

As well as eliminating the question of the child lock, that also makes me thing that this isn't as simple as a connection they forgot to plug in: The above pages only describe a single electrical connector. If there's only a single connector and it wasn't plugged in, the windows wouldn't work.

You should still be able to pull the door handle on the inside fully back and open it. If it doesn't open it's 1. not clipped in (last picture #4) and not plugged in last pic #5. If it opens it's just not plugged in, or child lock.
The above dosen't mention the window switch cable plugs directly into the windows switch panel, the 1 plug is for the electric door release.

On the REAR door? I think the rear doors are electronic only... Oddly, the door opens fine from the outside button - it's just the inside handle that pulls back and hard-stops without doing anything.

If you feel no weight on that rear door handle it's not clipped. It's possible that cable runs to the box that has the trip to trigger the door plunger. Both rear doors should feel the same when pulled back. I'll go yank mine. Hold my beer.

Edit: I returned from yanking. Sure enough the rear doors have no weight or detent I can feel. Looks like the cable goes to the box an activates. So it's just not clipped from the sounds of it (the box must be where the child lock is controlled)

At this point, I'm going to wait until tomorrow before I address it. If the service manager can slip me in and get it fixed while I wait, that would probably take less time than if I do it myself.

Sometimes I miss old-fashioned mechanical doors.

There is NO mechanical opening on the rear door. Only the front doors have that. The rear is electronic opening only.

I agree the problem sounds like the door handle connector wasn’t plugged in.

I have an appointment on Saturday for them to look at it. I wouldn't be able to pull the door apart myself until at least then anyway.

I forgot to update this... I brought it back to the dealership and they popped off the door panel and found that it wasn't clipped in. See #4 in the last picture of post 2 in this thread.

@Travlcub (mentioning you because I saw you posted a similar issue)

Thank you! I’m seeing the dealership Monday to be safe. I’m the last one you to be taking door panels off etc.

That thing is a pain to clip when I did the front door. I’ve only taken the passenger front door panel off so far. Maybe this winter I’ll use the rest of this Dynamat lol
