This happened earlier this summer, and my car was in repair shop for about 5 weeks. Sharing this for anyone interested.
Final repair cost was somewhere above 21 000 euros, about the same in US dollars. As far as I understand it it resulted in:
1) Removing and welding new body parts for the left side quarter panel, including the inner wheel arc
2) Possibly replacing the full trunk hatch door (it got a small chip of metal being not just bent, but cracked)
3) Plastic trims
4) left side tail light, both parts.
5) Lots of paint..
And, yes, the big thing parked in front is what caused it. Hit it right at the corner while trying to steer around, and seems to have missed all the barriers made to avoid costly repair (those parts that can easely be replaced), and the body itself was damaged instead. Inside the wheel arc the metal was bent almost into the wheel (which was not damaged), about where there is a very visible dent in the lower panel
