My family and I went on a road trip that had us driving for nearly 4 hours. My son, who is 18 yo, 6’1”, and weighs about 170 lbs, sat in the back. When we arrived, he tells me that it felt like he was sitting on a metal tube or something, on one half of the seat. When i sat in the seat, it felt okay mostly but you can feel some hardness on the one half side of the seat towards the middle. While standing outside the car, I pressed down around the seat with both hands using the weight of my body. I can really feel the hardness on the seat, and I can only describe it as feeling like there is plywood underneath the foam, but it’s only in the inner half of the seat. The outer half does not have this and it feels soft throughout.
Has anyone had rear passengers experience this or noticed this yourself? I am trying to get a sense to whether this is a defect or just how the seats are made.
May I ask a member to sit in the back and also try pressing down on the rear seat to see if they feel the similar hardness on the inner part of the seat?
I have a 2021 Premium Extended AWD built in December 2021.
Thanks!
