I have a low-clearance garage. My lift gate has hit the garage door a few times, and there are some small scratches. I was hoping that a rear spoiler would cover the scratches plus make the car look sportier. It looks like a number of people have added the spoiler. I was wondering what the consensus is regarding the best spoiler. AOSK makes an inexpensive spoiler, but it looks like some people thought it did not fit flush. Ford makes one that is very expensive. Is it worth the extra money?
BTW - I realized 2 things regarding my liftgate hitting the garage door.
One, I think the hands free automatic lift gate feature gets triggered by the moving garage door if the car is very close to the door. I turned it off.
Two - I glued 2" dense foam onto my garage door where the liftgate would hit it. only the middle of the liftgate hits so I only put a 4-5" strip of foam there.
Bonus - The lift gate can be set to only open part way, but it doesn't work unless it is a certain height. It won't work in my situation. Not sure why Ford did that. My Lexus will set to open low enough not to hit.
