Rear trunk support broke

Keeping you trunk floor in upper position puts most of the weight on the upper position posts.
There are weight limits on the trunk floor before the upper supports break from the body of the car. Cost per upper support repair is approx $1200.00.
There reports with this occurring with as little as 90#.
Two questions:
A) Are most people aware of this?
B) Do most people care?

A. Yes, if you have been around the forums long enough or read the car placards.
B. No. Put supports under the floor cover or keep it in the lower position. Mine has been in the lower position since I brought it home nearly 4 years ago. The OEM floor mat for that area fits better in that position anyway.

There are a couple of threads discussing repairs for this. A forum search should turn them up.

B: I didn’t, but I do now I fixed the right hand one which I broke by overloading it!!!!!!!!

My son’s 21 MME broke with 10 grocery bags. (1 grocery bag is 15#)

I use both positions depending on what I’m loading. I prefer the higher position normally, but will drop it when I load with a heavy suitcase or during Girl Scout cookie season.

I knew that the girls scout cookies were heavy in calories and added weight to the driver but to the trunk!
