Whenever I am driving behind an MME I now find it really weird to be looking at the under-sized toy wiper that comes with the car. I swapped mine with a Trico 15-G before I test drove the car. The car now has a Bosch A401H on it. Due to the Trico's superior flexibility, it wipes wider than the Bosch, but the Bosch due to being 16" vs. 15": wipes a little higher than the Trico. Since my rear dash cam is high up in the lift gate, the taller wipe works better for that. I think I'd go with the Trico if I didn't have the dash cam. ?‍♂?
I swapped out the stock wiper for the Trico in Spring 2023 and decided to replace it with the Bosch. However, now I can't remember how to get the Trico off. Does it just pull straight down, or was is like the OG that you have to push to the side first? I tried straight down but it won't budge.

The Trico pulls straight away from the wiper arm. Hold the arm so that the blade is about 3/4” off of the glass and push the blade toward the glass. It requires some oomph. ??

Replaced the OEM one with the Bosch 16”. The OEM wiper is tricky to get off and I thought I broke the arm. All is well. The 16” wiper isn’t as goofy looking as I thought it would. Thanks all!

So, when you go on Amazon to get your Bosch 401H rear 16” wiper, make sure you don’t order this one - it doesn’t work.? Missed it by that much …

Running into an issue with my Bosch A401H. I'm curious is anyone else has this issue and has figured out a work around.

A few months ago my local carwash that I utilize upgraded their dryers. The dryers now blow with much more force than they previously did. I never had a problem before the upgrade, but now I have had two instances where the blowers have blown the A401H right off of the arm, as there isn't a locking mechanism for this blade that I'm aware of. Luckily they were able to recover the blade for me from the carwash.

The first time it happened I didn't know it had come off and I went to use the wiper just after getting out of the carwash, and the arm went across the rear windshield without a blade on it. I noticed it right away and got nervous that it scraped the rear windshield. Thankfully there was zero damage, and zero scraping. The second time it happened I knew it flew off, so I didn't repeat that same mistake of trying to use a bladeless wiper arm.

The carwash guy suggested putting a small dab of waterproof silicone on there to lock it in so when it's time to replace the wiper I can get the silicone off easily. I'm trying to figure out a better solution to this issue, but haven't found one yet. For now before I go into the carwash I am removing the rear wiper from the arm, which I'm not a fan of, and then putting it back on when I get out of the carwash. Maybe those plastic rear wiper bags will be the best solution? I'm not sure, but I'm wondering if anyone else has run into this issue and found a good solution. Thanks everyone.

The Bosch A401H has a built-in detent that snaps around the trunion in the wiper arm (the opening for the trunion is smaller than the diameter of the trunion). It requires quite a bit of force to properly seat the blade on the arm. Mine is locked pretty securely to the arm. Although I have never taken either my 2021 or my 2024 through a car wash, I would expect that the blade would stay attached. Obviously, multiple installation/removal procedures will wear the detent out, so it should be snapped on and once removed discarded. 🤔🐩

Mine is definitely snapped in as far as it would go, and after it happened the first time I got a new wiper and the new wiper did it as well. It stinks that they really increased the power of the dryers and it's causing all this commotion.

I have increased the wiper blade from 11” to 15 inch blade and it’s far better for viewing when raining

I've got these resizeable wire ties for corralling audio video wires behind the TV that are reusable. There are some simple ties that wouldn't scratch your window

Some of the audio video ties are made of a wide band of Velcro I think that would hold strong and dry off pretty well.

Make sure the softer of the two velcro sides facing out or in case you forget and turn the wipers on with it on there?

Seems like it would be a simple fix to have a couple of those wrapped on reach end the wiper blade just before you go through? But yes still a pain

My biggest problem is the touchless wash by me doesn't have the blow dryers at all anymore. They broke and they've never fixed in a years time. I try not to give them my business but sometimes I need a quick rinse.

I went with this from Amazon. So far it works. Before I go through the carwash I throw it in and take it off after.
