The rear wiper seems like it could be a little bigger, has anyone ever tried installing a slightly longer blade on it?

Lots of threads on this. The two most popular blades are the Trico 15-G and the Bosch A401H. I have used both. They are both insanely better than the silly little thing Ford put on our cars. ??

Wow, I should have done a search for this, you're right there's a lot of threads for this.

Question: do YOU have a preference? Given they're each slightly different, what are the real-world differences for you...any?

Trico 15-G. It’s $12 on Amazon. Lasts at least 1-2 years depending on use or weather.

I got this. Spendy but works really well.

I have the same and agree it's great. I had the Trico 15-G and it was fine, but like the extra reach of the Bosch 16". It really is crazy that Ford only put a 14" blade on the rear window.

The Trico is a little more flexible and covers the lower width of the rear window better. The Bosch is a little longer and wipes a little bit higher. Either way, they’re way better than the scale model wiper Ford gave us. ?‍♂?

What effect, if any, does this extra length have on the rear wiper motor from extra drag…? (snow & Ice load)

The Shear Modulus (in GPa) of rubber is 0.0006.

You should be able to figure it out from there....

24", 20", 14" (factory). Most people get a longer rear wiper blade though, usually a 15" or 16".
