Is there a method to keep system in "recycle mode". Drive on highway, I smell co2 fumes and change to recycle but I would like to stay in recycle100% of time.

Short answer is no. The car will automatically bring in fresh air to keep the car windows from fogging.

CO2 and CO are odorless.

It'd be nice if there were a way to keep it on, I swear these big ICE trucks like to get in front of me and fart.

Every time this question comes up, I recommend this instead of continually futzing with the recirculate button:

https://pureflowair.com/collections...ford-mustang-mach-e-cabin-air-filter-pc99542x

It’s inexpensive, and it works fantastically well for removing the majority of smells from the outside air brought in. Short of being really near a run-down skunk, this has taken out virtually every smell from the air system.

Thanks for this, just ordered one! I'm shocked Ford didn't go that crazy "press here if a nuke went off" mode like Tesla that claims to filter everything imaginable hahaha

This filter isn’t the nuclear and biohazard protection level that Tesla offers claims, but I’ve gotta say, for twenty-some odd bucks, color me really impressed. We have to pass a water treatment plant to get to the next town over, and you smell that thing MIGHTILY in the car as you pass by. Since I installed these filters in three of our cars, I’ve not smelled it since. Like, at all. Not until I ended-up in a rental for a month while my MME is in the body shop, and then it was like ā€œREMEMBER THIS?!ā€ as I drove by, so I know they’re doing something.

Does the arrow point up or down in the mache?

Haha, that's awesome and super good to know. I'm going to grab one for the family VW Atlas as well, that default filter leaves a lot to be desired. Thanks again!

I was going to ask this, too, the video shows down. I was going to just match the one I take out.
It does point down, but when you get the filter, the way you ā€œthinkā€ it goes in isn’t probably the way it goes in. Once you turn it down, there’s an edge you expect to be the edge in the front, and it isn’t. If you put it in that way, it will be slightly loose. If you turn it to the unexpected side, it will be a really tight seal, and that’s what you’re aiming for. It’s JUST not quite a square.

Good to know! One of the Amazon reviews said that it was a little too tight and he had to take off some glue to actually get it to fit. Did you experience this?

Not across any of the three I’ve installed so far. That person might have just gotten a wonky one-off. It’s definitely a tight fit to seal the gap, but no issues like that.

The only hiccup I had was in the MME (of course) in that the assembly line left some cables very much in the way of changing the filter. I had to push those up and away from the front filter to do the swap. It wasn’t hard, but they were stiff and it was kind of irritating. Just know that if you put it in and it feels like there’s a little play from side-to-side, that’s the wrong direction.

I pulled mine out before I realized there was a direction. Then I was staring at it like….FFFFFFFFF me.
