Reduced mileage on extended range

Traded in 2021 Mach E Extended range 4 weeks ago which gave us 330-340 miles when fully charged for a new 2024 model same spec, do the same journey every day , settings are the same but best we can get Is 280 mile @ 100% charge . According to Ford this is within parameters , but this misrepresention if you read the advertising ,my advice to any one buying a new Mach E is get the dealer to fully charge the car to verify what you expect to get in mileage ,buy the car with the best mileage showing ..

my advice to any one buying a new Mach E is get the dealer to fully charge the car to verify what you expect to get in mileage ,buy the car with the best mileage showing ..

I would think after this many years of ownership that you would know that range displayed is referred to as the GOM or Guess O Meter and is not indicative of actual performance. Also the range will vary as you drive the car it it gathers history and driving conditions. If your Mach was at 330ish then your new one should likewise approach that as you drive it awhile.

Surly a car with no history should show max mileage ,the previous one charged to 340 @ 100% with days of being delivered

I must admit my late 2021 gives well over 300mls in the Summer, I recently had a curtsy car which only had 600 mld on the clock and showed a similar range to what you said but after a week of driving showed over 300mls as my other car. Had the 02024 model 3 weeks.

AC, heater, audio system, lights, outside temperature, driving speed, acceleration deceleration, all have a place in the onboard computer calculation for range.

It’s not a hard concept folks.

I don't mind explaining it again to new EV owners. Switching to an EV is a big jump. It seems odd that old EV owners are having trouble with this, but I suppose most people don't live on the internet as much as I do, so they probably managed to miss the other threads about the GoM being short for guess-o-meter, with emphasis on the guess.

I think this would decrease if the car came with 2 estimated efficiency, not unlike the city/ highway for ice.

Things have changed with the GOM since the Mach has been released. There are many threads on this subject but in a nutshell it was very unrealistic at first. Ford changed the programming to make it more “intelligent” and reacts to your driving but also to current conditions, etc. not saying it is good, bad or indifferent. I do know my GOM goes up to reflect increased range as expected in the summer and drops by 40% or so (unfortunately) as expected in the winter. If I did more highway driving I would expect my summer range to drop a bit. Just how it works.

My GOM has never been higher than 240 23 gt ext range battery I would love 280?

Maybe you need to slow down.
Now with the occasional Volkswagen trying to challenge me, I’m actually driving between 45 and 65 miles an hour at the most because of the area I travel it’s probably because I’ve got those Michelin cross climate two tires on maybe when those were out, I’ll try a set of Goodyear Fueller tires.

I checked my trip meter all the time and I’m averaging on trip number two because I never reset it about 2.6 so I don’t know what that basically all I know is if I charged 80% I’ve got right at 200 miles

Curious, what most people have if they have 55%. And I’m comparing to all wheel drive with stock efficient tires. If you don’t have all-wheel-drive and you have the stock tires, I’m sure that’s gonna be a heck of a lot better than what I get.
