I've been reading lots of posts about pre-conditioning using either the scheduled departure feature or remote start (still not clear to me if these do the same things) and how this is modified by being connected to the charger or not. For times when one is parked somewhere other than home (in public) and not plugged into a charger, is using remote start risky at all from a security perspective? Is the car easier to break into or steal? I would assume the doors stay locked and alarm activated if it was set, but wasn't sure (and don't have the car yet to test).
