Remote Started, and it didn't switch to Guest Profile

Earlier today I remote started my MME. When I got in and pressed start I was ready to switch from the guest profile to mine like always, and I noticed it was my icon on the top right of the screen. I was plugged in at the time, fully charged to 90%.

Since I didn't see any chatter about this on the site here, I assume this was just a happy accident for me.

I am updated with the latest software in the car as of a couple weeks ago - 4.1.3 I think?

I have an android phone with my fordpass app on 4.23.1

I haven't had a chance to try again.

Anybody else? Last night was the 3rd time its happend to me.

Remote started the car to warm the cabin. Got in and it was on my profile. Was not plugged in.

What's weird about this one though is that while driving home it switched back to the guest profile. I noticed due the lane keeping assist was all of a sudden active.

I did NOT have yesterday's new Fordpass update (4.25.0) at the time.

Mine has always selected my profile when I've remote started the car. Has done for almost 2 years now, not sure what you are expecting to happen. The profile is linked to either your key or Paak, so as long as you have one of them with you then its working exactly how I would expect it.

That's weird. The car switching to the guest profile when remote started is a long-standing complaint by many (most?) on this forum.

Nope never been a problem for me. We don't have PaaK here in the UK, so I use a Fob, that might be the reason for my success.

Seldom use remote start. When I have it would default to guest. That aggravated me.

A few days ago my wife remote started the car to warm it up on a frosty morning. When I got in I expected guest profile.........but no...it was on mine. So if this I now the norm, then I am happy and may use it more often

I remote started this morning and the car reverted to guest profile. There has been no fix that I’m aware of. And I’m gonna need to see some evidence that this works for anyone because I think the bug exists for everyone.

I haven’t gotten the guest mode in a while. I assumed they fixed it with one of the upgrades.

I agree there hasn't been a fix. But over the last couple months there have been 3 times that I've noticed it was on my profile after a remote start. I remote start quite often, so this 3 times has been a very low percentage of the overall remote starts I have done.

But the fact that it happened at all was reason enough to start a thread just to see if it ever happens to someone else.

lol, well maybe this is something.. I just tried remote start via bluetooth, and remote start over the network and both times when I went to the car, using my paak, it was my profile.

I tried remote start over the network, then used my fob (the one and only fob that is also tied to my paak) to open the car and it put me in guest mode.

edit: okay just to complete the test I tried remote start via bluetooth, then left my phone at my desk which is close enough to connect via bluetooth, but not close enough that the doors will unlock, and opened the car with my fob and when I started, i was in my profile.

okay last edit for real...

look, i even made a little table to organize everything!

started via bluetooth, disabled bluetooth, opened with fob = my profile.

I exclusively use paak. Remote start a few times a week. May occasionally be close enough to connect via Bluetooth. 95% of the time it is in guest profile. Twice now recently it was in my profile. Still mostly guest profile.

Remote start has been useless for me. If it's 55 out and the car is in the sun it thinks it's 85 and kicks the AC on full blast. Nice. Works great to explain to my wife (who I had to start and warm the car up) why the AC is on full blast and all the radio stations are missing. LOL
