my faults happen more often now after couple of days no issue charging > 2 hours. now it faults out around 30 minutes more or less...

ordered a Tesla Wall charger, should have it installed this weekend, I'll see whether the car still faults out on it, then know it's the car or charger.
Tesla wall charger installed, and 2 charges so far without fault. So quite likely a defective ford mobile charger.

It's might be the outlet you are plugged in to. I used to get that error all the time in my old plug in electric. When I started charging from a different outlet on a different circuit I never got an error again.

update! Charge faults appear to have been resolved!
Check out service notes in attached invoice for specifics on work performed.
Ken --- are you able to ask your service rep which specific steps were the ones related to the charging issue? The work order isn't super specific on that.

The last 2 days I’m getting charge fault errors and it’s charging slower then normal. It’s been charging perfectly since November. Hopefully the dealer can get me soon. I’m very nervous I can’t charge.

If you are using the included Ford Mobile Charger, try blowing a fan on it while charging until you can warranty it at the dealer. Recommend upgrading to a larger wall-mounted EVSE for greater robustness in the heat. If you are using a good wall charger, then you may need a new charge port if it's overheating.

Thanks for the info Mach-lee ! I’m using the Ford unit. I will try the fan trick to add some miles!

When it has the issue are the amber and blue lights pulsing on the charger?

No, but in the past I had the amber/blue light and I would unplug/plug the outlet and it worked fine. Now it’s blue and red light on the car.

Hello, John! Send us a private message with your VIN and the name and location of your local Ford dealer. I’d be happy to see what I can do to assist with this charge concern. Thanks!

I had several faults from the heat. Installed GrizzLE and not one fault since. It's the Ford supplied EVSE.

I bought a new Ford mobile charger to see if that fixed it … one week in and so far so good. I wonder if the dealer will just take the charger in for service to figure it out vs making me take the whole car in.

After five months and 8,000 miles of flawless charging at home with our Ford charger, we suddenly started having charge faults and, when it does charge, it’s charging at the 110 rate instead of the 240 rate, so like 10 miles for every hour of charging. When he installed the 240, because of adding a pool and solar to our house, we didn’t have enough room in our box and because of supply issues he has not been able to find the quad breaker that would solve our problem. He used one of our two AC breakers. We have two AC units for the house. It started to get hot and so he came over and reactivated the second AC unit and put the car charger on what was the oven. I don’t know much about this so if what I’m saying sounds bizarre I probably have something wrong. Anyway since he did this last change, the first time we tried to charge we started getting charge faults and charging at the slower rate. He stopped by again today and he is certain that everything is correct And that since the car charged fine at Chargepoint, he thinks the charging cord is damaged. Maybe a surge damaged it.

Same issue. Really struggles to make it to 90% when really low as once a week or so it will fault.
