I dislike the OEM covers.... I want cloth/microsuede.
combined with my priority for more shoulder bolster for hard cornering I doubt I can 'modify' the OEM seats for less than buying after-market fixed bucket racing/tuner seats.

So far I've found a decent option with the 19# Corbeau fx1-pro for about $400
and a really nice looking option, 22# Cobra Nogaro , but its $1200 per seat

I decided on the Corbeau a4 since they recline, are available in microsuede, work well with regular seatbelts, and I can fold upright for more room if and when I camp in the back versus a fixed back bucket seat.... which my wife would HATE. I got the seats finally after a couple week delay, and will be installing soon and starting a DIY thread on that little project soon.

$1700 for both seats (with microsuede, heat, and adjustable lumbar pump) and bracket sliders (for mustang 2015+).... The bracket sliders for 'regular' mustang are way off, and I had to return and fabricate my own. There may be mach-e sliders available by now, but I dunno.

Did they get installed, how did it work out?

I made custom brackets and installed Drivers side so far.... I really like these seats, but plan to tweak the front seat rail mounting to raise the front about an inch to support legs a little better.

Only downside is that these seats do not have side airbags, so I get error codes thrown to FordPass.

I was wondering about codes popping up. I am not too worried about that as long as it does not affect anything else.

Hi, Nice Seats, I'm looking to do similar, I just can't get comfortable in the OE seats, don't hold me in place well enough. I fancy myself pretty creative but using your start as a guide I think I should get there!

I like the idea of Heat available in the A4s, was it difficult to integrate into the E? can you use the same heat wiring or did you need to run outside of the factory path?

Have you resolved the Airbag code trigger issue yet? I'm wondering it that is just something I will have to accept or if there is a route around it Do you think the codes/light are latched? If you plugged your original back in would it look like everything was good and all back to before? When you were starting to play with this, did you run the car without resolving the codes and put the OE seat back in and have the lights go away? Just wondering if you could somehow apply the OE electronics to the new seat.

I'm not as concerned about weight, was thinking maybe I could get a Mustang seat with heat and micro suede and maybe avoid the airbag light/code issue?

Anyway good looking seat and I'm anxious to try something like that out on mine!

there may be brackets available by now, but there weren't any for the mach-e when I did mine.

I have never used the seat heat yet... with the micro-suede, it just never really felt cold. There is a pigtail which will reach the nearest 12v socket, but I just have never used it.

I did a little research, and ordered some 2.2 ohm resistors that are 'supposed to' work to terminate the airbag connector and eliminate the error warning. I just ignore the warnings. Just been too busy to get back to it. But, now that you've reminded me the little resistors came in and are sitting in an envelope somewhere in my garage, I'll have to give one a try. ;)

weight was secondary for me.... its a drop in the bucket for our (overweight) MMEs. I mostly wanted more shoulder bolster for cornering, and micro-suede for comfort and to stop sliding around. I decided to go with the reclinable seat not to recline, but so I could tip forward to make room in the back to lie down when camping.

your most cost effective solution is probably a high quality suede seat cover.... but I wanted a better fit.

Thanks for the Quick response!

Yeah, I would think that maybe in NM you might not see the cold as soon as us here in New England either. :)

I'd be curious how you make out with the resistor approach, I have read that in other places but people don't seem to respond back that it worked.

There is a California edition Mustang GT seat that seems to have better support and Alcantara (micro suede) ...I'm thinking that might be a drop right in solution to my comfort and support issue.

Thanks again and looking forward to reading about your success!
