Hello! I've had my Mach-E since August 2022. Recently, I've been having a few issues with Reverse Brake Assist kicking in when backing out of my steep driveway. I haven't had this problem until the wild swings in weather here in Austin, TX. Basically, i've noticed that if it gets cooler overnight and my tire pressure dips below ~37 in the back tires, my Reverse Brake Assist kicks in when I am backing out of my driveway. It can be extremely jarring when you forget and aren't expecting it.

Has anyone else had a similar experience? What do folks keep their tire pressure at when it isn't cold out?

What if you take your tires up to 39 psi on the cold morning before backing out? Does it still trigger the brake assist on backing out?

That will make your warm days stay at a slightly higher psi, but I think that's ok.

I haven't inflated the tire pressure right before backing out yet, but based on my experience of monitoring the pressure, a PSI of 39 certainly wouldn't trigger it. I have been hesitant to keep my tire pressure high enough to where it doesn't go below 38 in cold weather, but I guess that is the point of the recommended cold weather pressure. On warm days, I think that would mean my pressure would get up to 44+.

Are you using the psi readings in FordPass, the car itself, or an external pressure gauge?

If you really want to dial in an exact pressure in each tire, I think a quality external gauge is going to be your best bet. The FordPass and car updated readings are delayed until you start driving a certain speed and the sensor starts reporting.
