MME is still at dealer, they say they are waiting for Ford. I have to say I really appreciate my MME FE over the Premium Standard, breaks and acceleration are so much different. I took the loaner out for a ride and it's just not the same. I was able to duplicate the service error at my house but it does appear to clear quicker on the loaner. Looks like something with the software but what do I know.

Would really love my MME back :)

PPF next week, hopefully that still get done.
Great.......just great....
Now you are going to make me buy the FE instead of the PE Standard that I originally ordered. ?
They both are somewhere between KC and AZ. I think the FE is a few days ahead of the Premium so it might get here first. When I last talked to my dealer he asked me which one I want because he has a waiting list about 10 people long that want to buy the other one. I said..."Whichever one gets here first."

I agree with you. Everything that I've seen appears to point to some sort of software issue. I've been reading the diagnostic service manual in great detail and the electronics on the Mach-E is remarkably advanced. I feel optimistic that a solution is near. ?

Best post all day buddy :)

FE rocks, sorry :p

I did the speed test, and the FE feels so much more responsive and the breaks, wow...

But the rest is the same outside of battery range and some different touches.

Anyone thinking of canceling is crazy, they will regret is later. The MME rocks, style, fit and finish are all top shelf. Yea software needs work but so does everything else that touches our daily lives. Anyone says otherwise is living in the dark ages.

Folks walking by my house all stopped to take a peak. When we took our walk talk the neighbors all were asking me about it.

I welcome a solution, but if it does not fix my issue I will keep it a few weeks this time before returning it. PPF looks to be next week, waiting for a call from the guy.

My order (placed in November, so no production date yet) is also with Fullerton. I was going to try to arrange a test drive of their demo car soon.

Do I understand correctly that you drove the demo car and got the Powertrain Malfunction / Reduced Power service error on that car, too?

Was it a Star White RWD ER Premium? Or is their demo car (IIRC) a Rapid Red AWD SR Premium that was listed in their inventory a week or so ago along with your FE?

The last thing I want to do is test drive one of the these and have it throw errors in front of my wife....

The MME emits a sound to warn pedestrians in reverse and at low speeds (I believe up to 20 mph, but I'm not sure about the exact speed). That's by design to make up for a lack of engine sound and to avoid sneaking up on unsuspecting pedestrians. It's different than the artificial engine sound (which is generated in the cabin only). I noticed it too during the test drive; the sound went away as soon as I sped up and returned when I was driving slow through the parking lot. It was noticeable but not particularly annoying.
Does it sound like these videos?

Those are the pedestrian sounds.

The error is generated with charging, you have to have it connected and then start the car. The error goes away after a while which I described in another thread as well as the combo to generate the error. You wont have the FordPass app setup for the demo, I mean I guess you add yourself but I don't suggest it. I am not sure if the powertrain message showed since this MME is not in my FordPass app. The Demo car I have right now (RR AWD SR), your welcome to come by and test it provided your not a serial killer. Kidding with the serial, COVID no fun..

Wait for a week for my issues to sort out, sounds like a software update is imminent. They also have 11 inbound from what the sales manager told me, might give you a larger selection. The white is for sale from what I understand.

Personally I wouldn't buy a Standard range in NJ due to the lower milage in the winter. Today at 50 it was saying 135 miles on a full charge and after taking 15% off it was only at 124. It's learning I guess but when it's 25 out the milage will tank fast. Just the nature of the beast.

Would go extended otherwise range anxiety will prevail and coming from a Leaf I know what it's all about.

Confirmed, it's exactly that. Honestly I am used to it already, today I did some test driving and really love this thing. This opportunity has given me the ability to really appreciate the FE. I still want mine back soon...

Ah, OK. So this is a minor glitch that's independent of the issues you're FE is having! Got it!

I am not a serial killer and apparently have "the antibodies" (positive in September and again in January) but we're still being careful and it's a lot to ask. Appreciate the offer, though!

I'm with you on the ER - my order is for a Premium AWD ER in Carbonized Grey.

And I was figuring I might want to wait until the weather isn't so terrible and if the demo car is....busy, that makes even more sense.

I'm near Princeton - what vicinity are you in? Wondering if I might see a Mach E in the wild!

Every so often, I think maybe I should go all the way for a GT in Cyber Orange or Grabber Blue. But there's just too much uncertainty. Will the timing of my (< $55k) Premium delivery line up with a resuscitated NJ incentive? What does the Cyber Orange look like in person and will I like it?
How much would a GT optioned-up to the Premium level (pano roof, full CoPilot 360, etc.) cost? Will I hit the lottery?

Well fingers crossed your problem is the same as mine. I just got word the Mach E engineering team that they have a solution and will work with Koons Ford to implement a solution tomorrow morning.

Dealer called me as well, said Ford will be there late afternoon. I asked if I can take it home today due to bad weather the next two days but they wouldn't commit.

I would think the Ford Engineer would just be applying a fix, not sure how they will be able to test anything?

I know it's probably hard to "unsee" the performance of the FE. But if you had never driven an FE, do you think you would be impressed with the SR AWD model? Or do you still think the performance would feel lackluster? I'm going to try to never drive an ER version so that I'll be thoroughly impressed with my SR AWD when it arrives :)

The Ford engineer who flew in to work on Marlin ran a bunch of diagnostics, made some changes, ran diagnostics. They were still solving this problem in real time yesterday. My dealer just called me and told me to expect a call from the Ford Engineers shortly.

Engineers want to talk to you? I wonder what that means... On the edge of my seat for what they have to say.

If I had to do it over I personally would still get the FE. The additional range, finishing touches, speed and breaks stand out for me. However it comes down the cost, if you can afford the higher end go for it, if you can't you are not really giving anything up in term of excitement. The acceleration is close enough, really its seconds and I personally don't punch it often. The differences are not enough to stretch oneself out, they are really minor expect for AWD / RWD and battery. Battery for me coming from the leaf is key, I want maximum range. The standard is close to my Leaf and I know range anxiety kicks in for me. I am not a fan of stopping off for a top off in NJ, not easy to find or free.

Hope that helps?
