This was in the maverick forums. Someone was looking at parents for Ford's products, and found one showing a diagram of the skunkworks assembly process. But the image isn't a truck, it appears to be a crossover or hatchback of some sort, and bears a strong resemblance to the mach-e.

This could imply that we'll be getting a second gen mach-e on CE1, but time will tell.

That is certainly possible, perhaps an early prototype. That is not the structure of the current Mach-E. Rear bench seats are an interesting choice.

Cool! I want as much competition for my next car as possible. I’m hoping for a “one more thing” moment at the unveiling of the Ranchero: “One more thing… we took all the innovation and enclosed the bed! We’re happy to show you the new Ford Edge | Escape | Mach-e | Bronco II | Pinto!”

‘25 MME GT
The UEV platform is supposed to spawn other variants besides the first truck. A midsize SUV variant is a certainty as that is the core of the current automotive market.

Whats not known is if they will carry on the MME nameplate or call it something else. What’s also not known is the cadence of these future variant releases. Whether they announce it at the same time as the truck, or a few months after, or a year or more after.

But if they only use LFP batteries, I don’t think they will be able to match or beat the performance of the current ER AWD and certainly not the GT. So they may move away from the Mustang branding simply because the performance will be worse.

So the platform will spawn an entire line of affordable EVs unless plans change. Beyond the truck, we're getting a 2 and 3 row crossover, a van, and a few different sedans.

Their CEO wants to do an affordable RWD performance sedan which is a bitchin' idea to me.

So take this with a grain of salt, but an insider over on Blue Oval Forums by the name of Explorerdude has claimed the next gen mach-e might be an ICE two row crossover. So like a V8 or Ecoboost mustang performance SUV which could be kinda cool.

If that happens, I expect Ford to launch like a smaller EV crossover based on CE1 that uses some mach-e styling cues to make current mach-e owners happy.

Of the CE1 potential products, the one that makes me the most excited is the RWD affordable sporty sedan Farley has mentioned. I kinda hope when the truck is revealed, Ford reveals sketches or concepts for other CE1 models to further excite people.

If it were GM, it could be a bitchin camero… donuts on the lawn. “Hey man, where you headed? I don’t want unleaded!”

So what would the E stand for?
I could see them just making it like a mach-e style vehicle in terms of looks and being performance oriented, but maybe changing the name. Considering how polarizing using the mustang name has been, maybe switching to calling it something like Galaxie instead would be more fitting.

Did you know that the fiesta had a sedan variant? I’d be careful what you wish for 😀

The original Mustang was designed to be fast, fun, and affordable. Building the next gen Mach E on the UEV platform would make a lot of sense.

I'm glad to see this discussion in this thread. I thought about posting about this in the visit to the Skunkworks thread but we saw nothing to suggest a new Mach E was coming to the platform. It's just my hope.

Of course, my bigger hope is an electric convertible Mustang on the UEV platform!
