I hope they don’t call the next model Pinto!

now that's some funny sh*t right there.

For you youngsters out there, no, the flames are not 'backwards' this is in homage to the fact that when a Pinto gets rear-ended, the gas tank is right behind the bumper so it could burst, sending gas all over the passenger compartment, and probably igniting the gas as well as the occupants.

I can see why others will say the “best car I’ve ever owned” it rivers fantastic, great exterior design and it’s different. But you can’t deny that the lack of software updates or just new features makes it seem outdated…
<SNIP>
LOL I downgraded my first new car by installing a 9 year older engine. When the tranny and rear end got thrashed, I replaced them with a manual box and a 9 year older rear end. ??

They should kill EV's. Their software and updates are atrocious. This puts people off to EV's when this is their first. Maybe they killed off BC also and will just use Tesla AP/FSD :rolleyes:
Blue Cruise is on. Seems to work pretty well too

Please post where the article/ interview where you read the claim that Ford would make the most efficient EV ever
The claim is made in post #1 of this very thread. I quoted it, and expressed my skepticism in post #4. You were the one who disagreed with my skepticism. Until now, apparently... ;)

Nothing in their recent performance shows me Ford is capable of achieving this goal. Or even coming close.

I took that a different way. To me that says they are trying to cut manufacturing costs.

I was mostly disputing the statement that there is no evidence they can improve.

But if you want to take this as an absolute I understand your skepticism

Sounds like the Mach E will be around for a while on its current platform:
"Ford and LG Energy Solutions are targeting to move some Mustang Mach-E battery production from Poland to Holland, Michigan, in 2025 to qualify for Inflation Reduction Act benefits."

I have a friend who works at Ford in the MME program and it is indeed dead in 2026.

That would be sad. It is a very good platform that just needs some polish. ??

It's a little hard to believe that Ford would go through all the effort to move Mach E battery production in 2025 only to kill it a year later.

Completely agree, I think that was the original plan at launch but likely has been pushed back too
