All things considered.....I am enjoying my Mach-E quite a bit and glad Ford brought it to market. I think they will sell these as fast as they can build them during the next 12-18 months. However, the competition is good at copying a successful design so the Mach-E will need to evolve in order to stay ahead of the pack.
Just in case anyone with Ford's design and engineering is browsing these forums then I have a few suggestions for consideration.

  1. Door handles should illuminate at night. Just a small line of light will be sufficient. Almost every one of my nighttime passengers was unable to find the handles when I parked. It wasn't until I opened my door then they hunted or found the handle for themselves.
  2. Rear passengers should have their own fan speed control for the HVAC. The panoramic roof is basically for the rear passengers and they get more of the heat compared to the front passengers. I already have rear passengers complaining about the cabin temperature in back while the front passengers are comfortable. Front passengers have plenty of air flow but rear passengers really don't have very much. Not idea for a 4 door passenger vehicle.
  3. Steering wheel controls really aren't that great on the right side of the wheel. After nearly 5000 miles behind the wheel so far and I still struggle with the controls on the right side. My previous vehicle (Focus Electric) has steering wheel controls that I could operate without looking because they were designed in such a way that my thumb could find home and then navigate easily from there. Up, down, left right were all very tactile and could be operated without needing to glance down. This is something that I noticed about the Mach-E right away and decided to give it a chance to see if I could adapt. I think Ford took a step backwards in this area so hopefully the next generation of wheel controls can be improved and/or updated.

Minor things really. But would make for a more complete vehicle in my opinion....

1. 12 way power seats
2. Ventilated seats
3. Heated rear seats
4. 3-zone climate control (rear is 3rd zone)
5. Auto-dimming exterior mirrors
6. Kick to open front trunk
7. Reclining rear seats like the escape has
8. Power-fold second row
9. Rear ambient lighting
10. “Infinite” color choice ambient lighting
11. Higher-end sound system (high-end B&O)

1-4, 8, and 11 could be put into a “Luxury” or “Titanium” group, or a 302 package or something.

It would need to be a package of some kind because the Premiums are already Titanium where the Select is Select. At least that is how these cars appear in the Ford PTS system.

Yes, the front seats need another adjustment for tilt.

I would be wary of features like power folding rear seats because that just adds weight for no real benefit. At least for me. I fold down my seats once every 1000 miles or so. For something as infrequent as that....I would opt for manual folding rear seats. The reclining idea is pretty cool......especially with the glass roof.

Would like to see some more of the Infinite in the Blue, and not just on 4/20 day.

Agree on the steering wheel buttons. Would like a little more tactile, blind feel distinctions, and less mushy but not clicky, either.

Easier open/close of the charge door. Maybe make it just like typical gas doors? (Pull to open, push softly to close.) Although... It's probably the way it is to ensure a water seal... Whatever. The engineers are smart. They can make this better. :)

Chrome tips on the tail pipes. Maybe just for Premium trims. A $60,000 car should have every single thing that certain forum members want. Chrome tips included.

Systems shouldn’t be a constraint, they should adapt.
you’re completely right about power folding seats. I didn’t think about the weight penalty. Perhaps an even easier manual folding system?
Note that when I say “reclining”, the seats in my 2018 escape didn’t recline very much, maybe 15-20 degrees, but it was enough to allow passengers back there to adjust them for more comfort.

I would like to see a "User" drive mode that allows me to pick and choose settings. For example, the steering feel of Engage with the pedal response of Unbridled.

I would like a physical button to open the truck inside the cabin. I find it's a pain to have to go through the menu to have to do so.

Also, as much as I like the panoramic roof, I would love it to open. In my previous car as soon as I got in the car in the summer time, I would open the roof. Miss that a lot.

DEFINITELY. The escape has it as a $1500 option; I would gladly have paid that.

I don't think this is a good idea. That requires the weight and expense for power lift systems and sensors for a Frunk that doesn't get used all that frequently. I'll be fine with a release from the screen and FordPass app.

Actually, I thought about it on Sunday when I bought groceries. I put them in the front trunk and both hands were full with grocery bags. Opening with a kick would be great. I buy groceries weekly, so I’d use it frequently. Since I pull into my garage nose first, and the door to my home is at the rear of the garage, I just pop the front trunk, pull out my groceries and carry them in. Again, much more convenient to just quickly kick to open the front trunk than it is to futz around with the app. My phone usually lives in my pocket. I’d take it over the mechanics to open the pano roof, and I used to have an MKZ with the pano roof ?

Let's split the difference. Kick to release, manually lift the frunk lid. ;)

Sunshade for roof, better Phone as a key.

Ventilated A/C seats - hot in SE Florida!
Physical button or dedicated button on the screen to open the liftgate
PAAK has to work as well as a fob
Satellite view on the navigation screen like with Android Auto.

Except for the A/C seats, the other three should be able to be fixed via OTA updates!!

Aside from a few minor things here and there, it’s hard to improve on perfect ?

Rear reclining seats came up from the peanut gallery (the kids) on our recent trip. Hard to argue with that one as our 2010 Highlander had them and they got used to that.
