I need the groups opinion on something. Sunday night when I was leaving work I got in my car, turned it on (after a few failed PAAK attempts), and the “Service Vehicle Soon” error popped up with the wrench. Nothing from the app. I put the car in drive and everything seemed to be fine. I drove home like normal, no issues. When I got home I turned the car off, locked it and left it for a bit. Got back in and started it up, no error. Turned it off and locked it again, came back later, started it up, still no error.
The next morning while I was away from the car I get 2 back to back notifications in the FordPass app, “Powertrain Malfunction/Reduced Power”. The status of the car showed No Alerts though. When I got home I started the car up, no errors. Went for a drive, no issues. Maybe delayed alerts from the night before?
As of today (Tuesday), knock on wood, I haven’t seen the error pop up in the car again. I took it out this morning put it in unbridled and did some rapid acceleration just to see how it did. No issues.
I made an appointment with my dealership for Thursday, but I don’t know if I should bring it in. Do we think this was just a fluke? Or will it come back some day?
The only odd thing I was doing that day while I was at work was I was testing Siri Shortcuts to start/stop, lock the car. All worked fine, but maybe it left it in a bad mode?
Thoughts and advice anyone?
