Looking for advice or at least somebody to commiserate with. I have a '23 Premium AWD ER with about 24,000 miles on it. Here's the short version:

Dash lit up with a "Shift System Fault - Service Required" warning a couple weeks ago. Called my dealer and they couldn't get me in for another 7 weeks but I went ahead and made the appt. Found another dealer 2 hours away who could get me in in a couple of days. Took it there and they said they found a software update that took care of the problem.

Drove it home and the next day got the same shift system fault warning along with "AWD System Fault - Service Required." Called the long-distance dealer and made an appt to bring it back over in a couple days. Before we could do that we got both warnings again with the dreaded "Reduced Power - Pull Over Now" warning. The car then just died before we could even pull all the way off the road.

Had it towed to my local dealer, who I still had the appt weeks away with. This happened on a Saturday night so had to leave the keys in the dropbox. They called Monday morning and I went through the whole scenario with them. Luckily they said they would probably be able to get to it within the week and I wouldn't have to wait for my appt 7 weeks away.

It's been in their shop for over a week now and I know it has spent most of that time inside the building, which I assume means they have been working on it. I asked for an update today and was told they can't find anything wrong and can't replicate the problem.

I'm assuming they will notify me tomorrow that there's nothing wrong and to come get my car. I don't think I'll ever be comfortable driving this car again if they can't figure out what happened. Has anybody had experience with these warnings and have any advice?

I've had the dash light up with multiple warnings that went away after restart, but nothing persistent. I know the 12v can cause warnings when it's going out, I think those are more random though, so if you're seeing the same warning repeating it may be a real issue.

Maybe see if Brian @Ford Motor Company can set you up with the BEV team.

There is also a thread where someone may be able to look into the codes your car is throwing and give you some ideas. Try posting here.

Thanks for the reply! I'll follow up on these.

Hey Ken,

Thanks for providing Tom some guidance. I've escalated his case to our BEV team and they are investigating further.
