Should I have a 1 year service?

Our MME is now almost a year old with almost 10k miles. It has been great except for needing a BCM replacement, which was diagnosed and done at local dealer. I got a warning on the ford app telling me it was time for regular 10k service. I wonder if people are doing this? I'm an oil change on schedule kind of guy, but it's not clear what they will do in this service other than charge me money. Any opinions?

It is very clear, in the manual, in the center screen, and was in FordPass before the new version.

It is a tire rotation and visual inspection.

It's less a "1 year service" and more of the "10k mile service" like your notification mentioned.

Though the 10k service is really just a tire rotation and a visual inspection of everything else (fluids, brakes, etc). So whether or not you have the dealer do that is up to you - as charges for these can vary quite a bit. I think mine was like $30 or something.

You should definitely be reading through the manual on this for more detail though.

If you do choose to DIY - I'd recommend at least tracking it (and any other service) in a spreadsheet or notebook or something so there is record of it happening (in case of potential warranty issues down the road).

I think the answer (at least for me) is that you should follow whatever the maintenance schedule is for your vehicle - Mach-E or otherwise.

Discount Tire does free rotations and balancing. My dealership said $30 for rotation, but balancing was extra.

I've been going to DT since 1978 when I lived in their service area.

Same as with gas vehicles. And some dealers give you the first visit free, if you bought from them.

$55 for me, I had it done in May along with the hvjb replacement. I only hit 10k miles after close to 3 years. This is my total maintenance for 3 years aside from wiper blades and I trusted the dealer to know where the lift points are.

I didn't have anything better to do and I've got a shop with tools, so I rotated my own tires and inspected everything. I logged a self service on ford.com. The cost was $0 since I already had everything needed.

Tire rotation, dealer charged $30. Other than that, “if it ain’t broke”…well, you know the rest.??

Just dropped mine off for the junction box recall and asked them to do the check. I have the same mileage after the same amount of time. As a side note, they gave me an explorer as a loaner. Have to say, I love my MME even more after driving that tank!

I’d pay up and look happy, minimise your risks.

UK’s service intervals are 2 years unlimited mileage which for me is 60,000 miles…….but I don’t wait that long.

I took mine in, in the middle of a snowstorm. I have winter tires swapped every six months, so they are rotated. The dealer told me it would be a waste of my time.

Got my car back yesterday. Had the 10K service. They charged $44 which was covered by my reward points.
