Of course every vehicle made in 1984 was junk so… ?
Yes, I had an 84 Ford Bronco that spun a cam bearing at 60K miles. I vowed to never own a Ford again, yet here I am, the owner of a Mach E.;)

No. It's too wide.
I drive a double-cab, long-bed Tacoma.
The Hummer is 18.5" wider than the Taco. It's 6" wider than the R1T. The F-150 is also massive (another 2 inches wider than the Hummer), and once we get a chance to test drive one, I'm pretty sure we'll drop it as an option. Most problematic: the Hummer is >30% more expensive than the F-150 Lightning.

Double-check the Hummer EV specs. As far as I can tell, they're rated at 7500 pounds towing.

If Toyota would get off its duff and build an electric Tacoma, or if any of the experienced manufacturers would build a mid-sized EV truck with towing capacity of >7500 pounds and a range of >300 miles, we'd be right in line.

VehicleLengthWidth w/mirrors openHeight
Tacoma (ICE)212"75.2"70.6"
R1T217"87.1"73.1"
Hummer EV216.8"93.7"79.1"
F-150 Lightning232.7"96.0"79.9"
Tundra (Hybrid)233.680.2"78.0"
With mirrors folded, I believe the Hummer is wider than the lightning. It has much more compact mirrors. Fender to fender it is the same width as the Raptor and TRX.

I checked the specs, Hummer not including mirrors is 86.7", Lightning is 80" not including mirrors.

The Hummer isn't bad looking to me, and I expect the Silverado to be similar in size which is fine. I'm also Ok with a $100 deposit to see how this goes, I put a $100 deposit on a Cyber Truck when they came out and got it back when I got my MME. I really wanted Tesla to be the it manufacture, but the big OEMs are going to kill them, they can build cars now, that are better then 1984 lol, and are just applying the battery and EV technology that is already know by the vendors making .

I'm also not clueless that there area examples of good and bad dealerships every where, it is just I'm not moving for awhile and at this point no way I'm giving any more Ford business because of my local dealership. I was actually going to order a 2022 GT just to get the 270 mile range improvement and another tax credit for 2022, but I could not make myself do it knowing the pain I would be putting myself through again with the dealership.

To nobody's surprise, GM is delaying the production of additional Silverado EV and Sierra EV pickups to Q4 2025.

To quote the article-

“The company explains that the decision is not related to the ongoing UAW strike, but instead linked to a few other reasons, like "electric vehicle demand...the need for engineering upgrades" to boost profitability of the vehicles and "to better manage capital investment while aligning with evolving EV demand."”

AKA- the lightning sales and profits suck so we are taking a “wait and see” approach and possibly tanking the whole project.

Anyone still thing that GM will be 100% electric by 2035? I never did in the first place.
