In the good ole days the speedometer was in the middle. They way it SHOULD BE. Now we all just have this annoying Gray Car in the middle of our heads up screen. Annoying!!!

For those that have always had it. That car would only pop up with when using Driver Assistance Features, then go away when not. After 6.8.0 if memory serves, it is stuck in the cernter.......
It wasn’t always in the middle. When you used lane keep or BC it used to move to the right.

If it bothers you guys this much, you could tape a picture of a beloved family member of pet to the middle of your screen. Or you could enable Lane Keep Assist. The car graphic sort of serves a purpose if you enable the fancy safety features you paid for.
A safety feature, like the sound your MME makes when in reverse.

....perhaps you never drove a vehicle with a tachometer on one side, and a speedometer on the other? {sarc}

I get people's "preference", but at the end of the day Ford did NOTHING "wrong" with this change.
A speedometer on the left or right of center, in a vehicle, is more normal than "abnormal".
True, but i just prefer it in the center. Makes my symmetry brain much happier!!!

My car makes more than enough noise backing up for any blind person with normal blind person hearing to detect and, regardless, it’s my job - not theirs - to use my backup camera. But I’ll keep a special lookout for Helen Keller.

Use the record feedback app on the touchscreen to report it to ford and let them know you want it back the old way.

I had my instrument cluster like this from the begining (more than year now), never had problem with watching the speed. Do you guys have a picture or video how it was before the update, I want to understand what did I miss

Sure... Unbridled mode (now called Unbridle) is sort of shown in the latter half of this Ford how-to video from 2020:

The longitudinal feedback never actually got released to retail customers, but the other aspects of Unbridled were present until roughly the beginning of this year when it all got neutered.

You can see a bit of Whisper mode in this video from Robert Iorio, one of Ford's vehicle engineering leads for the Mach-E. It, too, was supposed to have longitudinal feedback but that also never got released to customers. (See his mention of it in articles like this one, or in his other Instagram post below.)

I've seen it mentioned several times on this board, but I cannot fathom how a hand on the wheel at 10 & 2, for example, is obscuring nearly anything on the IPC. ?‍♂

I've owned about 25 or so cars in my life. Not a single one had the speedometer in the center of the IP.
It's not so much the position of the speedometer that frustrates me. It's the loss of the graphics that were unique to each 'drive' mode. If you never had the opportunity to experience the graphics because your vehicle came with the update that eliminated them, you don't realize the loss of a unique feature. I truly miss it!

Hi, all - sorry if this has come up already but I didn't see it in any other threads from the past few weeks. I believe everyone else has the same thing where we had a software update and now the instrument panel is rearranged? Now I have the battery life stuck over on the left and the speed limit and speedometer all the way to the right and just a picture of a car in the middle which is probably the least useful thing ever. It was super helpful when I could see the battery life and the speed limit right in the middle, but now the speedometer is almost always covered by my hand... I assume there's no way to change this?
I've had this problem since last December. I still haven't got an update to fix it. I leave a voice message suggestion almost every week to fix the issue. I liked the speedometer centered and the animated graphics associated with the 3 drive modes.
