Hi, all - sorry if this has come up already but I didn't see it in any other threads from the past few weeks. I believe everyone else has the same thing where we had a software update and now the instrument panel is rearranged? Now I have the battery life stuck over on the left and the speed limit and speedometer all the way to the right and just a picture of a car in the middle which is probably the least useful thing ever. It was super helpful when I could see the battery life and the speed limit right in the middle, but now the speedometer is almost always covered by my hand... I assume there's no way to change this?
You guys complain to much about the simplest things I’m amazed at how many ppl are annoyed by the ip. Just buy a new car goddamn !!

They probably won’t roll that fix out anytime soon, because it’s an election year and all.

....perhaps you never drove a vehicle with a tachometer on one side, and a speedometer on the other? {sarc}

I get people's "preference", but at the end of the day Ford did NOTHING "wrong" with this change.
A speedometer on the left or right of center, in a vehicle, is more normal than "abnormal".
I never understood the usefulness of the Tach on most cars anyway. I can see why it would be needed on a sports car, but on the mom-and-pop Ford Tempo? or the Edge? or the Explorer? I mean if they are looking to save a few bucks..well?

I had my instrument cluster like this from the begining (more than year now), never had problem with watching the speed. Do you guys have a picture or video how it was before the update, I want to understand what did I miss
We really don’t want to go down this rabbit hole again. You can probably see the original no adas enabled display on early Ford promotional videos.

With the current IPC UI some folks have a partially or totally obscured speed because of the way they need to adjust their seat. Mine is always partially obscured if my seat and steering wheel anre adjusted properly. I can tell the speed at a glance to 10 mph only. I can adjust things so I can see the whole thing all the time as long as my next stop is at my chiropractor’s office.

The reality is that while the current system might be less than ideal, it also is the way it’s going to be for some time — if not permanently.

A safety feature, like the sound your MME makes when in reverse.
OMG...please tell me there's a way to make the dinging stop. I just moved to a place where my neighbors can hear how long it takes me to carefully back out of my designated parking spot so that I don't rub my wheels on the curb...so embarrassing!

Sorry for the hijack.

Thanks. I just called my dealer, who claimed it was a mandatory safety thing and could not be altered, but for finding the speaker and removing it, which we both thought was a bit over the top. He did not believe they was a way to adjust the sound either. Oh well.

My experience in almost all cars I have owned is that the speedo is on one side and tach on the other, not in the middle (except for ‘80s and 90s digital dashes. Same for my Lightning. With all the great things that could be improved upon hopefully this speedo discussion does not distract.

That is correct (no volume adjustment). I do believe that it can be done in Forscan but not through a Dealer for the reason you mentioned. Someone on the forum with Forscan might be able/willing to do it if you live close by them or you can do it your self if you feel adventurous!

I put one of these on mine and it was amazing how quite the car actually was.

I've thought if Ford wanted "software revenue" they could sell alternate sounds. Since all the automakers do something different it's clear the requirement is fairly broad. I'd like it to sound less like a forklift backing up and maybe more like stormtroopers arriving.

Drove with assist for first 18 months with Speedo to the right. Then had to see what I was missing and moved Speedo to center. Kind of like it there so that is one positive for no updates since Aug 23.

I turned off updates on out 21 just to avoid this but then Ford did the NACS thing and that required I turn it back on and allow my cluster to be infected..
