Just did my first true road trip from ohio to texas,1200 miles in total. The trip went flawlessly. About 8 stops, stopping every two hours on average. Left plenty of buffer in case ran into a charge issue. 7 super chargers, 1 EA. Not a single issue and plus side found some cool sites along the way. The car did great, average about 2.8 mi/kw with temps mostly above 50 the entire way. Speed was about 70 on highway. This encourages me to do a lot more trips in the future. Great car!

Planned stops with abrp, nav with google maps so I can see remaining charge at destination thanks to recent update. And preconditioned about 20 miles out with charging assist thru native car nav.

Note that if you are using Android Auto/Google maps it should do the preconditioning and as such you shouldn't need to switch to the native car nav to do that. That changed about in December of last year, even a bit before the knowing of the state of charge got added.

Great to hear about your experience! Got ours a few months ago and have done a few day trips and such. Learning more about the charging systems, navigations, and hearing first hand accounts like yours is super helpful in relieving any range enxiety issues.

Lots of horror stories with distance travel by early adopters, but with Superchargers and the continued expansion of EV charging networks, the anxiety factor is rapidly decreasing. That’s why I waited until 2024 to get a MME.
We only had two small issues on our 4,670 mile trip last fall.

No. The problem lies in CarPlay and Apple’s privacy policies vs. information that Ford wants from the navigation app. ??

I should have added that you also have to be on 10.0.1.1 for the Mach-E release. So, for anyone that isn't getting new releases, the pre-conditioning wouldn't be there, but neither would the state of charge in Android Auto/Google Maps, so that is a very quick way to know if you have that. I got 10.0.1.1 On November 23, 2024.

Quick top off second morning and we were good. Looked for hotels with chargers but far and few, decided not worth trying to plan around that. But did make sure hotel was near a SC
