Somebody OK'd this?

I have my display mode on Auto and this is what I see during the day, I've never had an issue with it. It's much better than other infotainment designs I've used and is now better than the day I got the car.

Looks good to me. Other than the icons being wonky. The radio Siriusxm 360L app (the screen you are showing) is great - and they've fixed the issues on it forgetting presets and saving stations while scrolling.

You give them waaaay too much credit.

Have you worked for a big company before? Zero chance this made it to the desk of a “top executive,” or they spent much time on it.

More likely- 1 or 2 programmers spent a week on the design and middle management approved.

When the aesthetics of your screen are what make you upset, take a deep breath and realize that if that’s what you have to complain about, your car, must be pretty damn good!

I want the big tiles option back - it had good info that was available at a glance. And the new font is too small - the previous font was perfect. Overall, I would have kept the old UI.

• The light grey text on the white background makes the text hardly readable. My wife said she thought everything was "disabled", since typically in software a greyed-out icon is not available.
• The three buttons on the top with the grey background, and the CarPlay icon with white. Why don't they match?
• The black Sirius background with white everywhere else - why wouldn't this match?

My opinions:

The CarPlay icon is a "temporary control", meaning CP is in the background while another app is overlayed on it. Once you tap on the CP icon it will disappear when CP is in the foreground again. The other controls are more persistently displayed.

Because one is an operational interface and one is a menu interface? Pretty much of a very minor nit, IMHO.

Here’s how to fix the UI,

• Make the icons at the top match the design language of every other button on the screen (invert select/not selected)
• Bring back the car icon instead of the settings icon. (Opening your trunk is not a setting).
• Change the child’s drawing of a house icon to grid of icons.
• Update the icons for older apps what that still have the drive mode specific single color icons (tire pressure).
• Give people the ability to pin certain actions to the top bar, like the camera is right now.
• Make the tiles at the bottom slightly bigger to include more info, but not as much as the previous big ones.
• Change CarPlay and Android Auto back to apps instead of the icons at the top because that is it how any other app works.

I’m sure there are other things, but those are the glaring ones.

I’m guessing the top executives at Ford don’t give the same attention to detail to the color schemes in the software.

No, that was just a joke.
We do debate things at senior levels and management for a long time though.
Everybody, including myself, have their opinion on what the customer wants. ?

The light gray font is a bug/glitch where it applies night mode font changes but doesn't update the remainder of the display to night mode....so you get a bizarre looking view. Reboot center unit or try flipping headlights from auto to on/off and back to auto.

I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder. It looks just fine to me. Realistically, I’m not staring at the screen enough to care. I’m more annoyed that it is so hard to get my hatch opened. I use that function at least twice a day if not four times. Let’s ignore the fact that I don’t have a frunk button either. I know that I need to go get an update.
