I’m really clueless as to how my SR AWD calculates range. I’ve had the car for about a week and a half, been driving pretty efficiently. I would say on average I get between 3.0-3.3 mi/kWh on average. But the estimate of 100% charge when I am charging keeps going down. First it said 200. Okay, sure. That’s pretty close to EPA rated even if it seems low based on the mi/kWh math. Then 190. Now 175. How the heck does it figure that? I’m at a loss, and wondering if I’m off about something or if I have a problem.

The good news is that it doesn't matter; if you're getting 3.1 mi/kwh that's 270 210 miles of range

sure, I’m just more annoyed that I keep getting the low battery warning when I know I should be at 50% not 30% based on the math. And of course concerned there’s an issue.

There is a setting to adjust the number of miles remaining that triggers the low battery alert.

Wait - I screwed that up. I didn't realize you had the SR battery; 3.1 would be 210 miles. The GOM range is inaccurate, but the percentage should be more accurate based on the mi/kwh.

So now I'm not sure what's going on. Are you charging to 100%?

No, I typically charge to 80 or 90. But the charging estimate says if I charge to 100% I would be at 170. When I charge to 80 or 85 it usually says I’m at 150.

OK, but if you actually drive 150 miles and it reports 3.1 mi/kwh for that trip, does the battery left show as 28%?

It’s so new I haven’t really compared against the odometer yet closely. But I’ve put about 180 miles on it and had to charge from 30% to 80 or 85% twice now.

Other weird thing is a reset of the driving data says I would get 190, even though my driving should be more efficient than that. I’m not mad so much as concerned and/or confused. Really like the car otherwise, just don’t really have a point of reference to know if I should be concerned about an issue there.

I suggest charging to a known level and reset the tripometer (make sure the mi/kwh reads 99.9 otherwise it didn't really reset). Then drive it down to 30% or 40%, multiply the percentage used by 68 and compare and divide that into the miles driven to see if it is close to the reported mi/kwh. Note that the mi/kwh ronds in 2/10 increments from 3.1 and above

also - do you precondition or remote start your car?

Not able to precondition currently. Moved to a new area and living out of an apartment until we buy a house.

Good news bad news - I went to get a quick charge at an EA station and the 100% estimate jumped to 201. Bad news is every time I use an EA station, it works but gives a charge station fault when I unplug. Weird.
