I noticed my mache 22 gt was running this morning and I did not remote start from the app. It seemed to kick in at the same time that I scheduled it to warm the cabin before departure, but I thought that only happened when it was plugged in. Has something changed? Or is this just a gremlin in the works?

Scheduled departure can work while unplugged. I think there is a toggle setting for that, but the default is on.

Correct. The toggle basically changes a "departure time" event into a "remote start" event when unplugged so you can still heat / cool the cabin even if unplugged, but will not pre-condition the battery. Just warm / cool in the cabin.

Yes, it has to run in order to warm the cabin. The setting I believe is under the preconditioning option and is something like “warm cabin when unplugged.” I am not currently able to get to my car to verify that though. ??

Thanks everyone. For some reason I thought the departure time setting only worked when it was plugged in. I was working from out of date or just incorrect info - but I could have sworn this was not possible in the past.

I believe what you might have been thinking of is that it will precondition the battery for a departure time, but only if plugged in.

You can also look at the App to see what's going on (my wording might not be 100% accurate):
- "Preparing For Drive" equates to battery preconditioning + cabin heat / cooling
- "Preconditioning Cabin" equates to cabin heating / cooling only

I have to say the use of the term "preconditioning" is a bit misleading...it's not preconditioning the battery, just the cabin.
