In the last month, I have had items disappear from the status bar. I was on 3.6.2 the first time I noticed that the Vehicle data sharing icon was missing. And that time the vehicle data sharing icon was missing for many hours, but finally came back.

Sometimes I have nothing but the time showing. Is this another software bug in the Sync software? I am now up to 4.2.5.

A couple weeks ago I found a thread that was discussing this, but I failed to bookmark it.

Yeah, this is happening to me as well. My 2023 premium has been doing this since it was delivered. I have a case open with Ford through my dealership. They had me do a bunch of things (none helped); they then had the dealership do some things (none helped). It has been crickets for the last few weeks. I also have a 2022 select that we got last July. Connectivity icon had been on 100% of the time until OTA 4.2.2 or 4.2.3 was downloaded; now it's icon is doing the same thing. My 2023 premium has downloaded OTA 4.2.1 and 4.2.2.2 since I got it last December. Both of these were downloaded in March. I check with Service Manager at dealership (we have known each other for nearly 20 years) every two to three weeks to see if any OTAs are pending. I have noticed the last couple of weeks that the icon is coming on more frequently than before (especially in 2023). On the plus side, Plug and charge, HF blue cruise, etc. has always worked whether the icon is there or not. The only thing that I have noticed is that if the icon is not there, then the connected services drop down menu is not active. Please let us know if you see any change or find a solution LOL.

I noticed the icon missing, but still got the 4.2.5 OTA a couple of days ago while driving.

A reboot of Sync does not bring connectivity icon back every time. This was one of the things that Ford had me try over several days. If I pull fuse #11 in passenger compartment fuse box, the icon will come on everytime like it should for a couple of days and then it is back to coming on about 10-15% of the time when I start the car. One of the other things they had me try was to start the car and turn it off. Repeat. Repeat, etc. until it comes on. It once took 22 attempts before the icon came on. I drove the car for about 40 minutes to recharge the 12V system. Parked the car. Turned it off. Waited 60 seconds. Turned car back on and no icon LOL. Both OTAs on both cars came through when icon had not been on for days.

I should have mentioned that I have already tried the Sync reboots
Well, if it's not causing any issues, I wouldn't worry about it. I see those status indicators come and go all the time and haven't noticed any ill effects.

It’s a known bug and they’re working on it. I think it’s due to server issues, so nothing you can do on your end.

As you can see in the screen capture, I don’t even have temperature showing. That’s what leads me to believe it’s more of Sync software acting up.

Yeah, it comes and goes but connectivity is always working, so not something to worry about.

I had a feeling it was a server issue since all the agreements to location/privacy sharing are stored in the JSON on Ford's End

"glad" to hear this happens to other people. despite the missing icon 50% of the time, my car seems to properly log all trips and charges. for a while there i thought it might be a symptom of a bad TCU but apparently not, which is why i'm glad.

when the icon is missing, the connected services menu (where you can set the various data sharing options) is also missing.

as for the screenshot, i don't think i've ever seen that. my time, profile icon and temperature are always present.

haven't had an OTA since 4.2.2.2 in march, though.

I have that same issue however, my car no longer connects to the Ford app. They are going to try replacing the TCU now… always fun on a 3-4 month old car.
