I noticed that after driving 20 or so minutes the wheel in my 2024 was not very warm. The lower portion was cool to the touch and the upper portion was barely the temperature of my hands. ??

I am going to take it in to the local dealer to be looked at. It seems warm-ish when the car is first turned on but it’s not at all warm after a while. ?‍♂?
Yeah maybe you got a bad wheel. all the heat is at the bottom where the sensor it.

We’ll see what the dealer says when I have time to bring it in. If they tell me to pound sand I will likely pull the wheel off and move the thermistor a bit. If that comes to pass hopefully I can move it enough to have the wheel at a reasonable temperature when the car decides to turn the temperature down. As it is, it’s not even acceptable at temperatures in the 60s. ?‍♂?

Hello Mach-E colleagues,

I have a question about the temperature of the heated steering wheel.

With my earlier Ford Edge was it able to change the temperature with Forscan, does this also work with the Mach-E?
Is there any experience here in the forum? Does anyone have the AS Built files for the different temperatures?
The steering wheel heating on my GT only gets very slightly warm, so I would like to change that
Thanks for your feedback....
Christian
The steering wheel simply follows the HVAC's call for heating and dynamically adjusts output based on the required output of the heating system.

Keep this in mind and then play around with different variables and see what you find.

If I bump cabin temp down my steering follows, if I bump cabin heat up the steering follows. When cabin temp settles out and the vents lower output temp on their own...so does the steering wheel. IF I get into the mach-e and haven't preconditioned or remote started and then turn on the heated seat and steering wheel then the steering wheel is crazy hot and stays there until the cabin nears goal temperature and then the steering follows that too.

There's always a chance for defective or underperforming steering wheels. But a lot of what people have described does sound like the dynamic operating nature of the steering wheel that I have observed after becoming aware that it's designed to follow HVAC heating calls.

In my case was it definitely a steering wheel with an error. I got a new one, and the heating performance is total different compared to the previous ...... it is hot and what i expected

Excellent, I'm glad your dealership was able to find the root issue and correct it for you.
