I just got my 2024 Mach e a couple weeks ago and now 2 out of the last 3 times Ive driven the car, the steering wheel has vibrated three times when I pressed the start button. Anyone know what the reason for this would be? I've tried googling it to no avail, and I haven't gotten any warnings or anything on the dash

it may be related to lane keeping tho I've never noticed it on start up on either of my mach es. You can try turning off lane assist (it's where the steering wheel shakes to let you know you're leaving the lane.) and see if that stops the behavior.

Turn off lane keep alert before you shut off and see if it still happens. Might be a bug with that feature

That could be it, the first time it happened I purposely parked slightly onto the parking line because it was a work lot and the edge car always parks slightly over to give everyone else more room. The second time it was in a parking lot without lines/very faded lines.

Is there any chance it has anything to do with weather? It's just starting to get cold here (~20-30f) and it was dark both times so maybe the car was colder? Idk

Lane keep only actives around 40 MPH. I don’t think it’s related to where you parked.

Hm weird. I'll try turning it off and seeing if it still does it. It hasn't done it at all in the ~400 miles over 25 or so trips I drove it before the last couple of days and I haven't turned it off previously, but I'll definitely try it.

If I'm not getting any notifications and nothing else is happening, I don't need to be overly concerned then? I feel like if it was something major I'd get some kind of notification or warning

Wasn't sure if that was a warning signal it does when the software thinks there's a freeze risk for the roads
No. That feature is more annoying. It’s a snow flake sign that decorates the lower left corner in our IPs for four months out of the year. And never turns off!

You can disable it with FORScan.
Thanks. Was wondering about that. I prefer if they display the thing for 1 min and turn it off, like most other OEMs.

Since the vibrating, 3 times only, (reminds me of a line spoken by Captain Ramius in The Hunt for Red October) steering wheel question has been overrun by the snowflake symbol, I’m feeling free to shed some light on the snowflake symbol for those among us who haven’t been visited by it.

As you can see from the images, it’s just so (not) huge and omnipresent annoying. It’s a just a happy little reminder in the extreme lower left corner of the IP that ski season will appear and that there could be some black ice on the way to skiing, or around town. It illuminates below 39 degrees F and turns off above that point. I wouldn’t think it’s worth the time or effort to disable it, but, to each their own.

Confirmed that this is likely not related to the lane assist, as I had it turned off and it just did it again. Every time it is a very distinct three vibrations and no alert messages
