Looking to see if anyone has had a similar issue or has any insight on this problem.

Earlier this week my wife went to start our 2023 Premium AWD ER Mach E (purchased new in Feb 2023, currently around 12,600 miles) after our typical overnight charge on our ChargePoint level 2 charger and received the dreaded Stop Safely Now error. The car was in accessory only mode, would not start, and would not shift out of park. About an hour later I tried again and the car worked fine. I did some brief troubleshooting by plugging in the charger again and letting it charge for an hour, tried pre-conditioning the cabin again to reproduce the situation, and had no issues.

We live in the Denver metro area and I called around to 4 different service departments who all told me they were weeks to months out. I started a case with Ford but they were not able to help me get a service appointment, so I just drove it in and dropped it off. Luckily the service advisor was very helpful and said he could take a look at it in a few days. Unfortunately there were no loaners available which could become an issue for us.

I received the following message from him yesterday:

"We pulled codes on the mach e. Found a u019b, we followed the pin point test and it led us to either excessive network traffic or a charger issue. The vehicle itself has not acted up for us. We cleared the code and is driving as intended."

I picked up the car, and again this morning we had the same error and the car would not start. I'm going to bring it back in today. I'm hesitant to simply accept that this is my charger that is causing the car to not start in the mornings but is fine at other times (but am willing to try and troubleshoot if that is a reasonable explanation).

Looking at my ChargePoint data it is charging as normal. We do have the car set to pre-condition the cabin before our morning departure. I set it up to pre-condition again today to test if that had anything to do with it but after pre-conditioning again this morning it started fine. Nothing else has changed. We did not receive any recent updates (although now the car has had a few updates applied). It has not been particularly cold this week (morning temps around 35 F).

I read the main thread on the SSN error and all the possible causes and ruled out the things I was able to rule out, and this doesn't seem like the more serious SSN errors, but it definitely has prevented us from using the car for work twice this week now. If it's reasonable that it could be the charger I'll have to find a way to troubleshoot but don't have easy access to alternate chargers other than the included mobile charger. Thanks in advance for any advice you all may have.

Good morning! If you send over a DM with your VIN and Ford dealer info, I can look into your concerns on my end.

My impression form my experience with our dealer's service center so far is that they have no idea what is wrong with the car. I have continued to have this issue and at the last visit they told me that because I brought the car to them at the same charge level my charger must not be working properly. My charger in fact does work and is set to charge to 80% each night which is why they received the car at the same charge level, and I also had the same issue when troubleshooting with Ford's mobile charger.

Regardless, did they find actual damage from rodents? My car is garaged and we have never seen any evidence of rodents in the garage so I feel that would be unlikely in my case at least. I really feel like Ford does not know what this issue is and so is reaching for whatever explanation is most convenient.

Sorry that you're experiencing this too. Unfortunately we have continued to have the issue and I have had to push my dealer's service center, and Ford's BEV team hard to get them to take it seriously. It was a solid 2 weeks in the shop before they actually started running through Ford's diagnostic list (and it appears they are still trying to blame our charger).

Wow we all have the same issue no they did not find rodent damage however they did bring up the charger. No one seems to have a clue. I just think it’s poor training on a new product. We as owners are paying the price for this. It sucks. I should’ve bout a model y.
