I wish there was a way I could press a button and have the car begin pre-conditioning. (Get ready for use.) I don't have a fixed schedule and would like to be able to hit the button five or ten minutes, (or whatever it takes,) before I leave. THis would also be useful when I am finishing up something (dinner, day at the fair etc.) and I want the car to be pre-heated or AC'd (depending on the season).

Yes. You can configure duration and climate settings through the display in the car.

It isn't a terribly intuitive name for it, but it really just means turning on the climate control, plus the heated seats and steering wheel if cold out.

Ford Pass App can drain my phone battery that normally last 24 hours or more down to 4 hours.

Ford Pass app is doing something weird in iOS where tapping on the control buttons (start, lock, etc), it wants you to hold to execute the command, but if you drag your finger off, it considers that a hold still. There is a way to listen for when the user moves their hand outside the button and cancel the hold. If devs are reading this, look up UIControl events and I think you just have to listen for “touchDragOutside” and cancel the timer you have for hold to activate. It looks like the UI already works nicely when users lift their finger, so whatever you use for releasing the hold early could be used for the drag outside event.

This is especially annoying when I’m swiping up or down but my finger starts on the button. If I don’t lift my finger in time, I activated the button. It’s a simple logic change if they are using objective-C or Swift stock. Not sure how complicated if they’re using react or some wrapper language.

I seem to have a problem where FordPass and the Mach e forgets each other. Twice it has forgot the radio setting and the A/c setting.
Also just yesterday it for fogot my iPhone and i had to use the backup code to start the vehicle.

The app needs to be simplified. There is too much going on for functionality. Example - We don’t need maps in the app - most people are using google, apple, waze (I think that’s what its called), etc. and the app asks you to open directions in another app, so minus the car location tracking, whats the functionality of the feature?

if the intent for the MME was to use PAAK, the app should have been designed based around that functionality instead of being applied to all Ford vehicles.

my news has not updated since March and it drives me insane that I cant remove remote vehicle set up when it’s been done already.

I should be able to see the info under the vehicle tab under the home tab.

please hire a ux designer.

ETA: there has to be a way for location services on iOS to be engaged only if required by the app instead of always on. I am deeply uncomfortable with an app constantly tracking my location.

I am glad there is access to the Trip Planner. A lot easier to see what the nav will do sitting in the couch and just sending to the car instead when doing trip planning. I generally avoid Waze because it routes off highway then back on for 0.00001 seconds and routes through residential zones for no reason and on and on, Apple Maps doesn't exist on anything I carry, and Google knows too much already.

Just because you don't use something doesn't mean nobody does. I think Android Auto and CarPlay are both extremely stupid at a very fundamental level, but I don't expect Ford to not do them just because I don't use them.
