Unlike 2021 orderers, I knew about the microchip shortage, glass and seatbelt recalls when I started my order. Don't blame anyone for being disgruntled about those events and the unexpected delays. Like many potential MME buyers, there may be a point where I give up. Ford's given hope with their announcements about increasing MME output. We'll have to see if those are empty words or not, right?

What’s inexplicable is a Mach-E that’s completely finished, with active modules, sitting in a rail yard a half-hour drive from the dealer, that will have been sitting there for 67+ days before delivery, if the current ETA holds. Meanwhile, up to 20 Fords are delivered to the dealer on a weekly basis, while the Mach-E still sits.

While it is subject to the seatbelt recall, that repair is a quick fix for the dealer using readily-available HeliCoils.

Again, this all makes no sense whatsoever, since the supply chain is delivering cars locally on a daily basis.

Exactly! Mine has been built since October and sitting on a rail car hours from my home since 11/5 while GT after GT gets delivered. Ford clearly wants those high dollar cars delivered first.

There were only about 2,000 MME out of ~60,000 2021 MME production run that were put on hold due to seat belt anchor issue, right? Also, Ford MME production is a very small part of their total vehicle production. I know this is no balm for your wound. Is Ford just too big, too stodgy, to expect efficiency or attention to detail? IDK. Never owned a Ford or EV. Never ordered any car. All I can offer is sympathy and, of course, hope that I don't get stuck in such a hell. I'd probably just kiss Ford goodbye and fight to get my deposit back. They have no customer ombudsmen?

I think it’s about 1,600 Mach-Es that had not yet been delivered that it affected out of about 2,300 or so.

What’s amazing is that Ford’s production is down from pre-pandemic years, so they had a functional supply chain in place. But it seems that they’ve been slow to adapt to current shortages, and have exacerbated them by failing with a lack of communication.

I spoke with my dealer, where I ordered it. They have a way of looking into the order and delivery process. Just today I had them check again, and the "Track a Vehicle" form now says, "In Production" as of December 10. Before it always said, "In Order Processing." So it appears that finally my MachE is in production, and if they can finish it on time, it might be ready to ship to me by Jan 3. I will check back with them in another week or so.
I can go into the Ford customer portal, where I can see the VIN, etc. It has moved from In Production to Shipped and says it is transit to my dealer.
