Of course. I recall the rep from Tesla telling some Colorado county board members a couple months back that they’re staggering the opening of the SC network so that they can onboard the new cars at a reasonable pace. I’d think that was done so that they have enough time to catch any issues and make adjustments. I think that’s a sound plan.

That plans goes in the crapper if your first participant is slow to onboard their users…..meaning Ford is slow to roll out the required software update and free adapter. Therefore, causing Tesla to fall behind on their internal rollout schedule.

Hopefully, Ford has been coordinating with Tesla to create a seamless rollout that allows Tesla to catch any problems in a timely manner before they onboard GM and Rivian while also not causing the GM and Rivian rollouts to be pushed back.
Always possible there could be glitches. I doubt Tesla cares that much if one manufacturer has delays and ends up getting leapfrogged as a result. As you noted, they just don't want all non-Teslas rushing in at once. They want it spread out. (Probably for both SC usage and for adapter manufacturing.)

Of course, Ford doesn't have to have 100% of all cars rolled out before the next manufacturer (GM) can start. For instance, for the Powerup that's apparently needed, it will probably be like all Powerups... some owners getting it right away, some getting it a week or two after that, and some running into inhibits for various reasons that leave them well behind.

I’m currently waiting in line at an EA. 1 or three stations is busted. The other three are occupied by a Nissan LEAF using Chadmo and 2 Chevy Volts topping out below 50kW. God I hate public charging.
The Chevy Bolts being used as Ubers and Lyfts hogging chargers drove me crazy on my trip this week. They took up all of the usable chargers at EvGo station I normally use on this trip. So I went to EA on the other side of the city and every charger there was working and all of them were empty.

I think that we’re going to see the Bolts at the SCs as well. It drives me crazy.

He literally has no SCs his car can get to. ?
Like a complete buffoon, I failed to order the optional 6,200 ft tall snorkel for those drives to Maui and then Oahu. They’re no longer available either thanks to the ongoing “chip shortage”. Thanks Ford! ;)

Oh it gets better. I just checked the screens and the LEAF is currently at 94% and one of the Bolts is at 92%. Unoccupied. These assholes.
I know right. I see the same Uber and Lyft drivers every time I hit that EvGo stations. Sometimes the KIA Nero’s get in on the action as well. And as you’re seeing, they always to go 100%.

Rideshare EVs are becoming a station-clogging problem. Fortunately it's mostly an urban problem and not a rural problem. Most of us don't need much city DCFC, we need rural DCFC for road trips. Although some of our road trips still rely on a city DCFC charge along the route.

For apartment dwellers without L2, it's a different matter though. (Of course, I wouldn't recommend people in that situation buy an EV anyway. For many reasons.)

Kinda harsh, chargers are first come, first served last I checked. And being unoccupied is common as well since who doesn’t leave to use a rest room or grab something to eat, apps will keep you up-to-date.

As long as I am actively charging I don’t want someone to question or lecture me on my decision to charge past some arbitrary number, just too many variables for a complete stranger to understand.

Tying up a DCFC to charge that deep into the curve, at essentially L2 speed, is either ignorance or being an a-hole. Sorry you think that is harsh.

Exactly. It’s common courtesy. I get it if you’re in an extremely rural area and you’re worried about making it to the next station, but doesn’t sound like that’s the case here.

Isn’t there an oversized tire option so you can float between islands?

Well the link doesn't work, I probably spelled adapter wrong, it might be adaptor
With being flexible on the word adapter, does that make you adaptable?
