Yet they left the parking button there taking up a third of that "valuable real estate"?
That park button is needs to be there with the flasher so my Jack Russel has a nook to rest her feet.

Yes, curious decision. Move the dial shifter out of there and still waste the space with other things that don't really belong there. I always just remind myself that there is no such thing as a perfect vehicle. These things are designed by people, and often these people who design them never end up driving them in a daily usage scenario.

I suppose one must draw the line somewhere.
I’m quite content with the dial shifter. The stalk shifter isn’t my major complaint about the 2025 changes though. If that was the only change, it’d be fairly minor. I don’t like it but that by itself is minor.

My major complaint is the postage stamp sized frunk. I use mine all the time. Next is the super stalk — the combination head lamp control (bright -dim), turn signal, windshield wiper (on/off/intermittent/auto), windshield washer control and rear window wiper.

Add in the changes that began in 2022 (kick to open, acoustic glass on the front side widows, self park) and what I see is a car that’s being decontented to death.

3-on-the-tree. The tech has been around since at least the 50s. A giant leap backward for Ford (not to mention a horrific User Experience downgrade).
I haven't even seen it in person yet and I already dislike it. It's one of the reasons I would look for a '24 first.

Mark, are you aware for a total price of $250 you can change out your console stick shifter for a rotary dial shifter and it is plug a play!
I’ve heard about that. It’s an interesting project idea I might consider.

Why not put the dogs in a crate in the cargo area?
Not sure a full crate would fit...I usually foster big dogs, pit mixes and such. I don't really do crates in general though, even at home.

Seats-up and the biggest you can fit is a 200 size crate. I think you can get a 400 in the back if the seats are down. ??

So let’s talk intuitive shifter. When they moved the shifter from the column on automatics to the floor counsel you started out with the shifter in park. Then you moved down one to reverse, then you moved it down 2 more to drive. Intuitive? Nope but boy everyone thought it was fantastic!

Not a huge deal but would take some getting used to. Just about every car I can remember driving the windshield wiper controls are on the right stalk. It would take some re-education of muscle memory to start using the left stalk.
