I have my MME for over a year in the Northeast. I just noticed rust on the suspension. Should I be alarmed?
Thanks,
John

Jeez, not another problem. I don't know if this is an issue. Anyone have any insight?

They neither paint nor plate the half shafts. That surface rust is normal. If you don’t like it, your only recourse is to remove the rust and paint it yourself. It sux, but that’s the way it is. ?‍♂?

I have my MME in the Mid-Atlantic since mid-May. It was manufactured in mid-March. I crawled under the MME in late March, and my half-shafts looked exactly like the OP's, already.

That’s the driveshaft and it’s rusted from the factory.

This, it's normal. Body rust and galvanic corrosion are what you need to watch out for.

Totally normal. Those axle shafts are made from a special type of steel and it is best to leave them natural. They form a thin layer of rust and it becomes a protective layer. Don't brush, sand or scrape it off. Leave them like that and you will be fine.

Mine are just like that, so echoing what others have already posted.
