ford mustang mache
Hi all,
New to this forum ,based in the UK and new to the EV world, after recently buying a new ford mache, I’ve a home charger but naive to the public charging stations. The question I’m asking can I charge my car at the Tesla supercharging stations or do I need an adapter? If so are they provided free as in America?

many thanks Steve

Doesn’t Tesla use CCS in the UK?
And the Mach E also uses CCS in the UK?

the issue with using Tesla chargers is most of them are designed to charge Tesla’s so have a very short cable which means you have to park in the bay next to the bay you should be in, this can cause ‘problems’ at busy charging stations as you are effectively taking up 2 EV chargers.
I understand that the new Tesla chargers don’t suffer this problem but the two I use both do, dartford and Gatwick Tesla dealers. The Gatwick one is a nightmare as there is a large rubber strip just in front of the charger you have to get over without crashing into the charger itself as the cables are that short, I won’t use that one again.

Also as a Mach e driver you can only use some of Tesla’s charging network, visit their site to find out which ones or download the app and register as a non Tesla owner

Yes, I received my free adapter a couple of weeks ago...after signing up \inquiring in June 2024. Apparently the first adapter Ford made available had to be recalled...
