Has anyone used one of these to access Tesla Fast Charging stations? Was thinking of getting one but read that there were some problems. That appears to be from last 12 months? Anyone have any firsthand experience or knowledge here?

Tens of thousands have. Dozens of threads on this.

25% off sale with A2Z ends soon.

A2ZEV makes the Typhoon Pro adapter for Tesla SuperChargers. They also sell the Stellar adapter, which is for Tesla Destination chargers (such as hotels, private homes). I have both adapters and have used both many times. They work great. https://a2zevshop.com/products/nacs-ccs1?ref=Typhoon&variant=43186507579592

I’ve used both the NACS DC L3 adapter and the L2 destination adapter. Both worked well, no issues. Stick to well known brands (A2Z, Lectron). Lots of posts here you can review. Most EVs in the US are able to use Tesla chargers using adapters, so somewhere between 100’s of thousands to 4 million (estimated number of EVs in the US as of early 2025). If there was a major issue, the adapter folk would want to fix it.

You just need to check in the Ford app, Tesla app, or PlugShare apps to make sure the location you want to use is open to non-Teslas.

Not all locations are open for use, many are Tesla-only even with the adapter.

I have used both the Tesla-manufactured unit that Ford shipped to us early on and the newer Lectron-manufactured Ford-branded L3 adapter. Both worked great for me. 😁🐩

I also have a Lectron-branded L2 adapter that I have used a number of times with my Tesla Mobile Connector plugged into a 6-50, 14-50, 10-30, and at 120v on a 5-15. No complaints on that unit either. 😊🐩

I’ve used the Ford-supplied one without issue. It’s important to do your homework. Older (V2) Tesla stations are technically incompatible with the CCS1 protocol. Some technically compatible stations are not open to charging by non-Tesla vehicles. The Tesla app and PlugShare will help here.

Most of the posts I’ve seen claiming inability to charge stem from the user choosing an incompatible or unopened location.

I have both the original Tesla manufactured DCFC adapter provided by Ford and the A2Z. I far prefer the A2Z. I’ve also used the Lectron adapter and while it beats the Tesla adapter, I still preferred A2Z. YMMV.

Just did my first round trip using the A2Z adapter at Tesla Supercharges in Butte, MT. Excellent experience. There is a Electrify America charger across the Hwy and have use those when traveling. There is no comparison. The Tesla chargers are faster, in better condition and are less expensive. Enough said. Well worth the small investment in the Adapter.
