I’ve added the Tesla app to my phone:
Ford Mustang Mach-E Tesla chicklet not appearing in CarPlay IMG_5455

but, it doesn’t appear as an option in CarPlay settings. Any ideas?

I’d like to know if there are openings before I get there. Thanks!

It just goes to show if you have to have that many apps in your phone in order to find a charger there's a huge problem that nobody wants to discuss

The Public Charging app will tell you how many are being used vs. the number at the site. The problem there is that sometimes they’re being ICEd (like when I went to try my adapter out and the Public Charging app said 3/12 in use but 3 spots were being ICEd by Teslas). ?‍♂?

My understanding is that the Public Charging app doesn’t work while you’re driving. For example, there is an EA and a Pilot charger in Williamsburg, KY. While I’m a few miles before the exit, I can use the EA app (with minimal taps) to let me know if I should go to the Pilot instead. I’ve done a similar thing north of Chicago and changed charging destinations mid-route as the locations filled up. I was on local roads and took advantage of traffic light stops that time.

Iced by Teslas? What’s that mean?

Not plugged in, not charging, parked where they are blocking chargers. ?‍♂?
Thanks for the clarification, was confused as I thought “ICE” only meant internal combustion engine, and a charger being “ICEd” meant being blocked by a non-ev. Didn’t know EVs like Teslas could “ICE” a charging spot. Learned something new today!

I was trying to charge at an EVGO site and a Tesla backs in parks and leaves his car. Of course he could not charge because it was a CCS type and not Tesla. He just wanted a parking spot at the mall.

Well, CCS->Tesla adapters exist so they could charge there but if they weren’t then that’s a crappy move.

“ICEd” is for ICE cars parking in public EV charging spaces.

“EV Hole” is the term I’ve heard for EV drivers parking in public charging spaces and not charging or not moving after reaching full charge (with the exception of long term parking locations like an airport garage)

Did you manually add that? It didn't show up in my Maps list until I clicked "Add Network" and added it. I'm wondering if it'll be smart enough to know the difference between ones we can use and those we can't?
