Like it or not, Tesla is and will continue to be the EV benchmark for the foreseeable future. We can bury our heads in the sand and sing the MME’s praises or look for improvement opportunities by benchmarking against the competition.

I worked for an OEM that brainwashed us into hating Toyota — cars are ugly, transportation appliances, uninspiring, and made for people who weren’t car guys. Sounds familiar? Well, we went bankrupt. I won’t bury my head in the sand again.

Personally, I find life inside an echo chamber to be a rather boring place to live.

I agree that since the 50s at least we have had the Ford bubble, Chevy bubble and the Mopar bubble at least. Throw in the JDM and the British crowd and this is nothing special for car people.
Rapid process improvements, listening to customers and learning from the competition is the way you succeed in business.
