I don't understand why on earth the FOB is so large. I use it primarily, and it could easily be at least half the size it is. Some subcontractor must've bought somebody at Ford a really nice dinner and now we're all stuck with them.
Agree.

I used to leave Now I can't do that unless I turn off the phone. So I end up taking it with me because it is easier to put it in my pocket vs waiting for it to power down and then hope I remember to power it back on later.
PaaK will be disabled if you turn off WiFi and Bluetooth on your phone. So you don't have to turn off the phone.

Okay thanks. But is that any better? Turning off two things instead of one?
I think my plan is to wait for my next phone which should be in Jan or Feb. I then just won't set up Paak and my 2 existing back up start codes should remain. (Fingers crossed...)

True, but turning off my phone is a bigger ordeal compared to just turning off Wifi and Bluetooth. I have to enter my password instead of using my fingerprint and I have to wait for the boot process. Anyway, just an idea to make it easier if it works for you.

What are we doing here on Christmas Eve? Merry Christmas!

Hmmmm PAAK works fairly well for both me and my wife…. But Neither of us have the frunk button on our phones. Any ideas on getting the frunk button to show up?
I think it is dependent on build date. Mine had a production date of July 14, although it was delayed by chip hold and wasn't flagged Built until October 7. When I received it, BlueCruise was enabled along with the frunk button on mobile apps.

Ease of use is no contest.
(Assuming you have the item in your pocket already), additional recommended steps for the item to work as intended by Ford:

Fob: 0
PaaK: at least 3,
(place phone in hand, unlock phone, start FordPass mobile app)

Heh, 2/3 of the time when using only my phone my car doesn't flip on its DRLs and Poodle lights... Errr... Puddle lights. Pushing the open door button usually forces an unlock. Once in a while I have to unlock the phone, open the FP app, and force an unlock using the button in the FP app (so 4 steps there if you include getting the phone out to put it in my hand). So I guess PaaK works for me, just not always as I expect. ?‍♂?

I am of a particular generation who carries their house keys with them..
I am of a similarly particular generation, but have gotten rid of all my other keys. The Mustang key is far bulkier and heavier than it needs to be. It would be nice to be able to leave it at home.

Same here. But my previous fob actually required manually pressing buttons so it was in and out of my pocket constantly. The Ford fob is the same size and might as well be a chip implant in my arm. The fact that I don’t ever have to mess with it once it’s in my pocket is beyond convenient. Now I just need to rig it to open the door to my house.

Exactly! My FOB is almost always going to be in a pocket as I want my other keys with me most of the time. If I have to take my phone out of my pocket, unlock it, open and app and wait for it to sign in that's not even remotely as convenient as a FOB.

I didn't know phone had to be unlocked for PAAK to work. doesn't it work like the fob, where proximity is enough to unlock?

For me it worked without unlocking the phone in about 70%. Fob - always.

I might go back to PaaK in summer, but now I have enough deep pockets to carry the FOB without even noticing its size and weight

When I was using PaaK every day, I only unlocked my phone when I couldn't open the door. Most of the time PaaK worked well enough that I could open the door, even if it took a few presses of the door button.

My main problem was PaaK once I got inside the car. It usually worked if I placed it on the magic charging pad, but not always. Now I am a Fob man again so everything works all time time. Without fail. Like it should be.

Ditto, exactly my experience as well.
