By now many of you have woken up to seeing your estimated delivery dates jump three months (in the wrong direction). Such a large estimating mistake, or logistics mistake, far exceeds last year's "chip hold" delay which prompted the extra free 250kw from Ford.

To help draw attention to this disaster, I propose referencing it in this and other forums as the Friday Night Massacre ("FNM"). This will facilitate cover in the trade publications, as in "... described in social media as the Friday Night Massacre, the massive disruption of ..."

It's laughable, because it's likely to swing back within a week or less based on systems seeing better data. On weekends, Ford's systems are notoriously off / inaccessible / being updated.

I wouldn't be surprised if Ford cut the access to the different trackers at some point, because they don't need the headaches of customers calling / emailing everyone in the world every time a day changes.

I am really puzzled by how the supply chain management works in Ford. Didn't they know that there is no chip to put on all these cars before yesterday? So they go and build stuff then suddenly at a Friday night they're like "ugh looks like we're out of chips, let's order some."

Check Monday at 10AM and see what the date is. Don't rely, or freakout on what a system says during a weekend when systems get updated / maintained.

The "Friday night massacre" is of people's minds because they lack the ability to reason.

What then do we refer to the seat belt anchor recall? RestraintGate?

I'm sorry, I don't mean to laugh but you guys put so much drama into the ordering and building of your vehicle. I mean seriously, "Massacre", you guys definitely crack me up on this cold snowy morning as I drink my coffee! ?

This is the first time so many orders slipped by such a large extent. Unprecedented. Not at all like the order status system going down for portions of most weekends.

Could you let people vent without having to make a pejorative comment every time?

By far not the first time and won't be the last, as others are saying, just wait you will see.

I do hope that you are right this time, not like when your girlfriend said she was late and gave you a due date ?

Let's apply logic. Would Ford continue to run the plant at full speed, without chips, stacking up each week's production for 3 or so months, given the past headaches in doing so? No, they'd likely slow production / cut shifts / close for a period. These same chips are used in many vehicles, so they'd be doing this at many plants and recreating the 2021 nightmares. My belief - it's a few weeks to a month of a hold at most, and some of us are already a few weeks into that.

Mine moved up a week, from 2/11 to 2/4 at the Dealer. Says it's in Kanas City as of 1/28. Rapid Red GTPE ;-)
